The Northern Front or, the War to End All Wars

I have no speech to give; no words to raise the spirit in defense of our nation. No words disparaging a great people who were our partners and bedfellows for many years. I am profoundly disappointed in all of us that things have gotten to this point. We, too, are guilty just as they are, (but they are indeed a little more guilty), so we must cleanse our souls through superior planning and production. We will go through some dark times shortly, but we will be clean and sharp when we come through on the other side.

Our Golden Age is upon us, and we will see such activity as the world has never known. So make an donation at the RNG Enlightenment Center, grab a shield and a sword, and let's head to the Northern Front!

First things first. Chamnix has noted in the KISS thread that we should not move into KISS territory or attack Grinder before our turn 105.

Though an argument could be made that an attack on our 104 is fair, we will likely do better to wait. Make KISS make the first move. They will probably show their hand.

But there's one thing I'd like for us to discuss as a move on our 104. Move a stack of MDI and a Hoplite onto the tile West of CNV that HL Achilles is defending. This stack will be visible to KISS. It is ominous and threatening. It could provoke an attack before the required grace period ends. Call it a trip-wire.

If they don't attack us by our 105, then that stack could move in to pillage their roaded dyes, then retreat to the safety of our lands. Or, if the warrior on the Dye Mountain is no longer there, we could take the mountain. That would give us a base of operations to destroy Anonymous dyes.

One other thing to consider, though this may be better placed in Domestic: We should have a settler ready to head north in case we manage to raze one of their towns. Likewise, if they raze one of our luxury towns, we need to be ready to replant as soon as it is safe to, so that KISS doens't settle there before us.

We should also use that stack, if we send it, as a diversion. To draw troops away from where the real attack will be.
