Thank you all! I must say that I rediscovered playing OCC's. They are fun, short and you learn a lot of things.

My next OCC will be one of the following:
-Space Race on Emperor
-20K game on Monarch without being allowed to have contact, except for making peace
-A Space Race on Monarch, huge map, 16 other civs.

I am curious though. Don't you have to have more than double the culture of the second rival city to win? If so, you should have been safe.

@microbe: no, you don't need double the culture of the next city. That is part of the big popularity of OCC as far as I can see.

How did your civilization culture reach 20003 when your city culture was under 20k? how did you get that extra little bit of culture?

@Toramaki_Bltzen: I am told that this has to do with the anarchy period. I don't know why but that appears to make the difference.

wait, anarchy makes culture, but it dosen't count? im now confused.

@Bluemofia: I am not sure. I am sure that people strolling the GD forum can answer it

It appears that the last turn of anarchy, when one switched to a new government type, does count for the total culture but not for the city culture. This can be called a bug.
