Something I've spent altogether too long on (and largely delayed because I was too lazy to do Siam for a while), I'm happy to present to you a version 1 of my Civ V Google Earth atlas. First and foremost, it has every civilization, city-state, natural and world wonder in the game - and for the latter two I made sure their default views offered a bit more to the viewer. What you'll probably immediately notice is that it's stuffed to the gills with a ton of modded civilizations as well!

This is by no means complete, that'd be difficult at the time with the sheer number of modded civs and the obscurity of many of them. But there's a significant fraction of them from the most well-known and talented authors on this site. A more obvious area that's missing is most scenario aspects - this is something I intend to rectify at a later date, but I wanted to go ahead and get this out now.

Instructions

1. Download the KML here (or from the link at the top). You'll obviously need Google Earth to use this.

2. For most PCs, the location of the needed folder should be something like so: Computer (C:) > Users > (your name) > AppData > LocalLow > Google > GoogleEarth

Note that the AppData folder may be hidden, so you'll need to set your options to display normally hidden folders. If this isn't your file structure, simply run a search through your computer for the GoogleEarth folder.

3. Simply place the downloaded myplaces.kml file in that folder, and open Google Earth to verify it is working.

Notes

Many locations I couldn't find are noted with a (MOVE) after their name - should I receive information as to where they are, I will place them accordingly.

By and large I get my information for modded civs off the Civilization V Customization Wikia. If you'd like to have your civilization in this, it would work best to make a page on that wikia for it. I'll of course need the city list, color scheme (all the civilization pages incorporate the RGB values into a banner in the page which I can easily look at the source code of, very nice of them), and colony list from ExCE compatibility if applicable.

For obvious reasons, fictional civilizations and the like can't be incorporated into this. This also applies in the matter of easter egg cities or whatnot in lists - examples including Apolyton for Greece or Arlan for Texas, or many colony lists such as Australia's or the Papal States.

Dooooon't mind that 'Ascendent Realms' thing too much, that's largely personal reference for the future and despite how it looks, the 'folders' in Google Earth aren't actually folders so I couldn't easily slip it out ^^;

If there are any other errors you note, feel free to tell me about it.

Additionally you're free to edit the KML file as you wish if you'd like to add or adjust things - but if you intend to give it to me in order to be put on this page, you will need to send me a detailed, exhaustive, and explanatory changelog because I am picky and demand things be exact ^^ Also be sure to do much research into exactly where cities and the like are located - if you don't know for absolute certain, slap the (MOVE) onto it, but feel free to inform me of where you believe it to be.

This is marvellous. I will be getting lost in there a lot. Thank you for all your hard work.

This thing is literally life :D Although I think I should point out that "Urartu" is not a city - but "Arzashkun" is. ;)

oh haha that's where this thread went

Thanks muchly everyone~ I'll be sure to get this as complete as I can as soon as possible - of course you all go and pull things like releasing eight civilizations of long-lost ancient Egypt on the same day that goes and complicates matters :P

I'm actually going to do my best to make an update on the first of each month or so. Appropriately, what will greet that of next month will be the whole Battle for the Nile thing since as it turns out, vanilla Egypts RIDICULOUSLY ENORMOUS CITY LIST has most of the stuff for each one! Month after that I think it'll be scenarios to be updated.

No love for Araucanía and Patagonia [emoji14]?

I'd fully intended to put it in there but it has no page on the wiki and my computer is a bit iffy about running the game so I couldn't easily utilize the mod! It wasn't necessarily 'this update adds all mods from october' so much as 'i want a theme for the update so let's do those Egypts and might as well Finland since it's easy'

There will probably be a lot more to next update than expansions though! Will probably actually end up A&P-ing it up presuming its city list isn't impossible lol

I was disappointed with lack of 16NP representation in this. :/
So I added Urartu myself. :D
https://www.dropbox.com/s/u1n7g4n35hqnzgj/myplaces + urartu.kml?dl=0

Full changelog:
- Added "Sixteen Nations Project" as a new folder within Civilization V/Mods
- Added "Urartu" as a new folder within Sixteen Nation Project
- Placemarked the entire Urartian city list:
Spoiler Urartian City List :

Urartian cities can be identified by a purple placemark with a light green label, per Urartu's icon colors.

And I'll probably keep updating that file to add more 16NP because advertise everywhere! So expect me to *spam* this thread with a new link whenever I map another civ.

Do want, but 404s every time I click a download link.

The link I uploaded has all the same stuff (plus more), so you could use that in lieu of the *official* download. Which is a bit of shameless promotion on my part, but it is the most up to date version and the other link isn't working, so...

Better yet, this even more up-to-date version also has the Minoans mapped onto Crete :D

Changelog:
- Added Minoans to the Sixteen Nations Project folder created in the +Urartu map
- Placemarked the entire Minoan city list:
