The Order of the Knights Templar

my answers :
first question : B or C

second question : don't know

I don't like option A because: rice is not irrigated.
phant are not usable
Overlap with capital is not the priority at this time (we have no cottage built yet !)

in the future, why not fo A but not now IMHO.

'C' has the best yield, but strategically quite vulnerable. 'A' ensures War Elephants (albeit Constantinople's borders will one day eventually pop again) but I agree that unirrigated Rice is a good but not great tile, there is lots of Jungle, and the overlap isn't that important given that Adrianopole has better overlap for Cottage growth. I like 'B', even though it'll cost us. My preference would be B > A > C, but am reasonably fine with all three options. Frankly I like the Horses area to the north east or settling on one of the Ivory tiles to the west as other possibilities.

I'm doubtful of our chances with The Oracle given that Polytheism and Meditation have each been researched some time ago (someone {Holy Rome or Arabia} chased Meditation out of the gate), but if we quarry and hook up the Marble and it's still free, I'd be OK to chop into it. I'm OK to swap to Meditation > Priesthood while The Oracle's 'alive', but I'd swap back to Writing if it goes in the next few turns.

I'd go for C as the other sites seem less contested. Extra happy, can soon pay for itself. But can live with all other options too.

Re Oracle, what Cam said.

I vote option A. Oracle is lost.

OK - it's been a few days, and I'm not sure if the hold up is because of (a.) the deadlock on the next settlement spot, or (b.) if it's something to do with astre's inability to play due to real life issues.

If it's (a.) the deadlock, then I'm happy enough to settle on C given it's astre's preference in astre's turnset. I do see lymond's point on A, and I'm a bit wary of stealing spots in front of Genghis given our very light military, but in order to get something happening, I propose we just move on.

If it's (b.) and astre is struggling to find the opportunity to play, then please 'sing out' and we can arrange a skip or swap.

Sengir - thanks for the advice on your computer - hopefully see you back soon.

Yep, I think we need to set some type of turn around limit on turnsets. It doesn't have to be too strict since this is casual, but at least within a few days. I'd like to see this move on at a better space. There's no issue in skipping a turn if you don't have time to take your turnset in a few days.

I'd say 3 or 4 days is a reasonable turn around. Playing a bit faster keeps folks more interested as well.

As for the settling spot, this is IMM. Unless you absolutely have to grab a resource, it is better to settle cities more compactly if reason spots present themselves, and they do in this case.

OK, I'll play in about 12-15 hours unless astre re-appears to take the turnset.

And at at the same I'm UP in SGOTM.
I can switch if you want with someone and play later.

Not to pick hairs, but it's been over two weeks since you took over, and no progress. I realize that other things get in the way of a casual SG, but as a courtesy you could at least pass on your TS if you think you can't get to it within a week's time. I'd like to keep the momentum going and have some discussion.

sorry. I was expecting more answers from my question from last week and don't have that mutch time to dedicate to civ game outside from week-end at this time.

So, i'll try to settle C spot and going for writting / alphabet.

PPP:
contantinople: whip settler, warior, worker
tessalonica : warior, worker (whip it), granary/warior
adrianopole: granary/ warrior?

will play in 3-4 hours, you still have time for comments :p

played until writting is in. turn 76.

founded gold city
meet ragnar (christian) and cyrus (muslim)
That lead us with 3 christan, 3 muslim and one confu (mongols)

Mongolian steal us the 2 phants with a new city.
I saw no barbarian except the 2 first turn.
I found copper (very far in mongolian land) and 2 more barbarian cities.

We have 1 worker per city. all bonus tiles were improved except gold. I start to build some cottage to get back our economy. equilibrium is at 30% which is not that bad.

Looking for feedback on : Can we afford another city? If so, where? Are Chariots alone sufficient to base our army on for a while? Which tech' next? Scientists or work Cottages as a priority in Constantinople? Other helpful suggestions?
