The Paladins

i'll pick it up for tonight, southern city seems to be next followed by some more military, we cna't be too unprepared for the storm that's coming

A short report i'm afraid,

turns started off with a bad event, i hate slave revolts

BadEvent-1.jpg

Shaka, came looking for OB, though about it and decided yes due to his geography in relation to Genghis and Monty

MMM.jpg

Archer and settler built in Prague and sent to the south city site, they haven't settled yet due to our crashing economy. We need the silver on line, we need to head towards IW to get the gems on line and we need cottages, all the while worrying bout the neighbours :)

Quick look at the empire

This sort of reminds me of obsolete's recent game... except I messed up part of it heh heh.

Unless pigswill returns, I'll play after RK13, check out the save later and see if I have any comments.

Played 15 turns to 125BC.

Great Scientist in 7 turns.
Horseback Riding in 2 turns.

An uneventful turnset. I messed around with Vienne to avoid growth and speed up the wall (why are we building one again*), ran scientists in Prague. Build a couple of chariots (what choice do we have other than protective archers*).

After getting the gems mined, I immediately build a road to increase happiness in our empire, then micro all cities for growth.

Augsburg is still working horses to get granary faster, then after building we could switch to the rice for growth.

Here's what's building in our empire right now. Prague is running scientists to get HBR out faster, feel free to remove them when HBR is done.

* I notice our neighbors getting frisky. Monty AND Genghis have "enough on their hands". WHAT. I fear a dogpile on us. Hopefully Monty will attack his religious rival and girl-next-door Boudica instead.

I'm not sure what you :smoke: last night meat but you definitely should change your dealer!! Just in case you really didn't realize: You played 5 not 15 turns!!!

And we also build this mine onto the gems for working it to get the additional :commerce: so this needs to be changed as well! And afterwards go and raise the science slider to finish HBR next turn and get an army out of the thin air!!! I don't want to loose this barb city to the Mongolians!

All right then... you don't want me to play on, trust me...

Turn 177
Genghis Khan declares war.
Implement "lightning whip" protocol. See his approaching units...
civ4screenshot0000z.jpg

Turn 8:
1 HA 2 archers (and a wall) vs 1 sword and 4 axes...
(sorry I ever doubted you, Wall)
Our Horse Archer defeats Swordsman.
IBT: Lose 1 archer vs 3 enemy Axemen.

Turn 9:
GG is born in Prague, make him stand around while we figure out what to do with 'em. I vote for Super Medic.
Our HA gets a promotion, mows down enemy Axeman.

Turn 10:
Chariot defeats Axeman.

Ok, I don't have time for more turns... so I'll pass it to the next guy. And here's another screenshot of encouragement...
