What is the population of the "place" you live? The ground rules are that you should state the urban/metro area population if your "town" is actually part of a wider metropolitan unit. Anaheim is part of LA, Newark is part of NYC, Scottsdale is part of Phoenix. I am talking about the functional city. None of this, "I live in a small village next to downtown St. Louis" crap.

Of course, if you reallyfeel your town really is apart from the metro area, the "urban" area would be appropriate too (contiguous urban growth).

Oh, and you might as well list your metro in a post with some sort of description of what the "feel" of the place is if you like.

Well the place where I live has 4500 pop. but it's connected to a town with a population with 5000 inhabitants, so the total municipality is just under 10 000 poeple.
the municipality is next to a city of 50 000 pop so a lot of students go to there and a lot of the working population too. (although there is some big industry nearby Hooglede)

I voted for Zaragoza's population. It's pretty simple really, the comarca has between 600 and 700 000 and the outlying areas in the rest of Zaragoza province are too small to be worth speaking of.

Zaragoza also contains about 70% of Aragón's population. Aragón is 3 provinces. Zaragoza, Teruel to the south, and Huesca to the north. Teruel is mostly empty and very dry, Huesca has a large chunk of the Spanish Pyrenees but isn't much more populated than Teruel. So basically, the comarca of Zaragoza is in the middle of what is otherwise the emptiest part of Spain.

Pune - around five million and fifty thousand. It's a nice little city, ideal for academic work and students.

My home town of Indore is a pretty small place, just below two million.

I'll take the lazy way out: New York City

In the city itself: 8,274,527

But since the OP wanted metro area, then it's: 18,818,536

11,298 as of the 2000 census.

The village I live in has about 300-400 inhabitants, the whole municipality about 11 000. Though the municipality is 1 004 square kilometres large.

On what scale? Providence is part of Bosnywash, which has about 44 million people.

Providence metro includes parts of Massachusetts and is about 1.6 million people.

My city itself (Cranston) has about 80 thousand people.

Tell me which one to use and I'll vote!

I just moved. Drexel was about 1,000 and now Butler has around 4,500 people. Butler is the center of the county which has about 851 sq. miles and around 20,000 people. There is one stop light in the entire county. :D

Providence. I understand the inherent problem with such things, but I would go with Providence Metro.
San Jose, Costa Rica. :)

:lol:I thought he meant the parking lot!

I dunno! :(

London, < 8 thousand, 7.5 million, 8.3 million, or 14 million, depending on where you draw the border

My choice was for 7.5 because I have an old post code :crazyeye:
