The question of render.

Hey.
Sorry, my question does not concern "Civilization".
Tell me please, are these units (in the screenshot) created in Poser?

P.S. Sorry for my English, I use a translator.

Don't know about Cossacks II, but Cossacks units were converted to Civ III by Steph:

It would be more appropriate to ask GSC on how they did it, as this question is more related to how they created the units.

I'm not sure what the industry standard is, nor if GSC followed industry standard, but my wife does work in Blender for making 3D art for her company.

The fact is that I am not a professional designer. I have never used "Poser". I use 3ds Max rendering, but I’m not happy with the rendering quality. My units look flat. (screenshot from Conquest of America)

Is there a video instruction on rendering in "Poser"?

I do not know how to contact them.

My point is to contact the company responsible for creating the Cossacks game, rather than going through a roundabout way of going to a forum for a completely unrelated game. You may have better luck with the GSC website, and scrolling down to the contact section:
https://gsc-game.com/

Alternatively, you may try and look up Poser tutorials online if you are specifically interested in Poser:

Or possibly 3ds max tutorials:

Note: I have no experience in either of them, and this was just what I found in 30 seconds of google. It sounds like you have more experience than me in these areas, so I'll leave it up to you to review these and see if they are appropriate.

I am familiar with the administrators of this GSC forum. Unfortunately, administrators are not the developers of "Cossacks", and the true developers of "Cossacks" are reluctant to contact modding issues.
I have been setting up rendering for more than 6 years. During this time, I conducted a large number of experiments and rummaged through a large number of textbooks, but I could not find a suitable tutorial for rendering sprites for isometric strategies from professional designers.

I assumed that Kinboat would help me figure out how to render settings in Poser.

By the way, there is a single example of sprites from the authors of Conquest of America.
Spoiler :

Is it possible to calculate the angle of inclination of the camera to the surface from these images?

Deerslayer... Your images, especially as seen on the map, appear to be about -35 degrees X Orbit for the Main Camera.

Kinboat has not been here for years. If you get Poser, I could help you set it up. You can experiment to get exactly what you want concerning renders.
