I think TF just mixed them up, or uploaded the wrong one, or assigned the ;) code to the wrong one. :)

Ask in Site Feedback, in the Christmas Smileys thread.

Edit: Crosspost.

All of you language nazi's, I need an answer.

Is there a difference between conviction and stubbornness?
And is there a difference between being stoic and apathetic?

Yes & yes.

Conviction is being certain of your position. Stubbornness is refusal to change despite evidence that you aren't necessarily making the best choices.

Stoic is putting up with adversity without giving up or quitting. Apathetic is not caring one way or another.

When I was walking down the sidewalk today, I began to hear this weird ticking sound that seemed to be coming from inside the right side of my head. The sound seemed to stop whenever I stopped walking but the ticking got louder and faster the faster I walked. Does anyone know what caused this to happen?

Were you wearing a hat? or glasses? Do you still hear it?

I can only guess that someone planted a ticking time bomb into your noodle...:nuke: try not to jump around so much and you might make it.

This has happened to me, but thankfully not in a while. I have no idea what causes it.

My best guess is that it's got something to do with your heartbeat

Have you ever heard your jaw tick while you chew? Could it have been a joint like that? or your eustachian tube on the brink of closing up? or your brain sloshing around (OK, I'm guessing there:D)?

I may be confused, but I don't think "ticking" is how you would describe the sound of a heartbeat, but maybe, i don't know.

what part of your head are you talking about? your jaw? your temple? your cheek? in your ear?

I don't exactly remember where the ticking came from but I think it was somewhere close to my ear. It sounded like it was coming from somewhere inside or around my ear canal.

I have mild asthma (no puffer), which often makes me short of breath and mucus everywhere.
Also, I have troubles with exhaustion, like the kind you get in your mudcles after a long run, except I barely done anything. Could the asthma have anything to do with it? I read something in biology textbook about lactic acid forming when you dont get enough oxygen.

Thanks.

If you aren't getting quite enough air into you, then heavy exertion will exhaust you more quickly than someone who breathes better.

thank you.
