Religious Scientific?

I just got back home and have poser at my fingertips. Its weird though. The program was designed to make 3D characters and scenes, not specifically the upper torso with background civ 3 leaderheads. I wish Sween32 gave out lessons on exactly what to do . Well I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, and I think I'd try out Basil II first.

for the Byzantiens it would be a good match :) though a worse choice (in my opinion) would commercial religious,as even after almost all territory surrounding constantinople had been taken it was able to have a much larger influence then it could have other wise due to its favorable position on the trade routs

Ah... the U.S. Army Ranger. and it was so beautiful too:(. Oh well.

Byzantium: Scientific, Commercial
Ethiopia: Religious, Commercial

I was almost tempted to put Militaristic insteed of Commercial for Ethiopia.

Traits are definitely Militaristic and religious, maybe agricultural because teff, an ethiopian grain, was one of the first to be cultivated, but militaristic and religious definitely in my opinion. UU would probably an ancient spearman unit. Or, it could be something to replace a galley, as the Axumites were known seafarers (axumite traits, on the other hand, would be seafaring and militaristic). Since the Ancient Age is so full of UUs, though. The Ethiopian UU could replace the Med. Infantry and be like 5/4 instead.

why do you say the Ethiopians are commercial? Ethiopia has, until recently always been a military power, and I cna't think of anything (other than the Axumites, who were involved a lot in trade) to make Ethiopia Commercial.

You have pointed out the problem with an Eithiopiean civ though- its UU diffaculties, as you said it should be some sort of a spearman, or better in my opinion, a bowman replcement by a unit holding a spear (it opens up one of the few ancient options left)

personally, If Eithiopia were to become a civ i think it would come to represent Nubia as well, which was a commercial power

Byzantine not religious?

I always identify them by

1. Their religion
2. Their cultural accomplishments
3. The vast amount of land and trade routes they controlled

Nubia was perhaps commercial, but Ethiopia definitely was not. It conquered Nubia circa 350 A.D. and Yemen circa 550 A.D.

I agree with aaminion00, the one trait needed more then any other is religious for the Byzantines

Good point. And I can finally change my avatar! Wohoo...

Maybe I should've made it a Winnebago

Xen, you ever checked out the NES section of the stories and tales forums? It's pretty addictive and I have the feeling you'd get a kick out of controlling Rome.

Anyways... uh... on topic. My new list of top 3 civs to be added is probably like this:

Ethiopes
Byzantines
Khmers

How about including all of the civilizations mentioned in that bastardized game Civ Call to Power? I recall from playing it that at least 40 or so nations/civilizations were included. I prefered playing as the Jamaicans, just because there wasn't a Jamaican civ in normal Civ 2.

lol jamaican civ, unique unit: rastafarians ;) Replaces infantry, 1/1/1, smoke ability (take away one hp unit),

:roflmao:

I always played as the Jamaicans too. Simply because they were the stupidest most random civ I had ever heard of. Who the hell chose the civs for that thing? What did they base it on? The typical world map was China, Rome, Australia, Jamacia, Brazil, Germany, Bablyon, Thailand

lol, australia, thailand and brazil.

Aaminion00, what do you mean the NES section of Stories and Tales? It's for games other than civ3 too?

Xen: Why do you think Ethiopia should be commercial?

Ohhhhhhh.... you mean Never Ending stories! Nevermind about that last comment aamin00.

polynesians its a bit emty down that place in the globe or the Belgians ;)
always declaring war to the netherlands and then getting conquered by the germans

Do you have a custom Belgian civ in your game? You probably could, what with the guttentag and Utahjazz7's Stefan the Holy leaderhead. I think the guy's perfect for Leopold or someone, but what do I know.

@ yom- eithiopia would, in my opinion somewhat cover Nubia as well, and the Nubians were very commercial, not to mention Eithiopie being (I belive) a center in Incense production, and those are the strong points of my argument

@aaminion00- I'll take a look around, get the feel of things, and if I like it, may just decide to do somthing there...

I still think Mali is more important than an Ethiopian civ, Mali was the third biggest empire in the world at one time.

the mali would be cool too
