The Screenshots Thread

No. I thought that this was the thread for screenshots of all games. Now you embarassed me in front of anyone. I thank thee.

This was supposed to be a harassment sortie, made by a worn-out army, to wear down this Macedonian force before the found my big army waiting between them and my homeland (surely where they were headed). They were just going to kill as many Greeks as they could, and then retreat.

Well, I wound up beating the living crap out of them, despite them having around ten phalangite units. You know, I was worried when this war began that horse archers wouldn't be as effective against the armored hoplite formations, but my genius proves itself again (pats himself on the back). I'm still looking for a kind of warfare in this game that I suck at.

The Guards of the Citadel are the finest soldiers in the realm.

Holy crap!!! Those are excellent!!!

This was a defining moment in my gaming tonight. The other I didn't get a screenshot of, but it consisted of a legio being haulted by five units of Spartiadites Hoplitai.

No, but this battle was amazing. So this general is a conquering hero, he conquered all of both Gaul Proper and Cisalpine Gaul, vanquished all enemies before him. On his way back to Rome to retrain his worn-out army, two things happen. First, the King dies, so he becomes King of Rome! The second is that, right as he enters Narbonensis, so does both a huge Iberian army bent on conquest, and a relief army marching from Rome. He hops over, my nine-star newly coronated King (who's only 35!), and marches to the aid of the besieged citizens of Narbo.

Well guess who's head of that Iberian army? Which was a fine army, I might say: You guessed it, the Iberian King!

A full Roman Army, under the banner of their King, and a full Iberian Army, following their monarch's colors. This is going to be a battle for the ages.

Actually, that's the result of the battle. This is Rome: Total Domination.

The only significant losses I sustained were Gallic mercenary units that got caught up in a wave of Scutarii Falacata Infantry before the Libyans could relieve them.

Another scene from my Iberian conquests. I was on the defensive against two Iberian armies; luckily, the map had this wonderful precipice around which to base my defense. There's a reason the shape of the dead bodies is a big circle: I executed the most complete and effective encirclement manouver in my history of Total War. It was amazing, just a big hinge, Roman jaws closing on my Iberian foes. The best part was, their second army didn't arrive until just as the first one broke, so after I mopped up the best I could, I reset, and did the same thing to the second army.

Beautiful carnage in the bottom right corner of the screenshot. It's truly a glorious day when you can walk across the battlefield and never step off the carpet of enemy corpses.

I don't remember any trolls withstanding sunlight in the LoTR triolgy or the Hobbit.

The Olog-hai could withstand sunlight when under the influence of Sauron. Since we have a new Shadow in FATW, that has been transferred.

These berserkers knocked all of their killes off the walls (though a large number of corpses fell straight down inside the wall >.>) Two whole units of spearmen were wiped out, several corpses on the wall were left from earlier archer fire.

After this there were 6 Frankish generals at the town center which I wiped out.
