The Song of the Moon

Quests or something like that might have a place here. Goody Huts are already "wreckage", but I'm not sure if the goodies can be turned into relics or not.

As far as cyborgs....I have a unit called Servo-Infantry lined up for late game, but have yet to add him and yet to try to skin him. If anyone skins a borg I'll put him in! :)

I'm about ready to upload a "patch" to Filegone. Here are the changes, additions, ect mostly exactly the same as last page:

FIXED

- The three silly promotion XML problems
- The pistolman pink dot
- Civic TXT_KEY errors
- Manufacturing plant acting like an airport
- Tweak unit pow, I hope. ;)
- make military engineer worth something. He now is the only one who can construct military improvements.
- Change Internet reqs. Moved it back into the tech tree.
- Added basic pedia/strategy for Biodomes, Bunkers, and their refits.

ADDED

- New settler art. A green engineer skin...
- New skins for almost all units. Hopefully no more rifleman or pistolman running around. The navy seals and SAM infantry look better with new uniforms.
- Three new techs, replacing ones that made little sense.
- Most units require some type of resource.
- Four simple Wonders added, more to come.

TO DO

- Add scout sounds
- check Rover garage size. Is it overwriting Biodome graphic?

The to-do can wait since I'd like to get this out so people can see if units are better balanced at least through the 2nd era.

edit: Here's the link to the "patch" to....we'll call it version 0.17 :D

http://www.filegone.com/ckxr

Simply extract it into your Song of the Moon folder where the Assets are:

...Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Mods\Song of the moon

You will need to overwrite files when prompted.

I hope this works for everyone. Please make sure you have the original download handy just in case this buggers stuff up, which it didn't do on my computer. Or like I always do make an entire copy of the Song of the Moon folder. But things went smoothly for me. ;)

Let me know what works, what doesn't, what needs to be addressed, and what I did well. Night all.

Has the download link been fixed? I'm itching for a good game on the moon with this latest version.

The original link to v0.15 hasn't been addressed to my knowledge. If you have 0.15 you can download the patch listed above. Matt or JBG will need to put together an entire download.

Thanks Matt.

I think the Lunar Mod needs it's own website and superdownload site! Or we simply need someone with a FilePlanet account... :p

Excellent. Now you can take some time GalCiv2 to try v0.17. ;)

And now I can go back to GalCiv2 tomorrow and worry about SotM another time...

Either no news is good news or no one wants to tell me the patch didn't work? Which is it?

JBG - Make sure you change the download link on the first page to the one Matt lists above in post 207.

No go, says "Sorry, downloads are temporarily unavailable. "

Ditto for me.

Are guys using the new upload a couple of posts back or the one on the firsrt page? (JBG still has to update that one as the link he has there has expired)

Edit: or are you refering to v0.17 patch?

The 0.17 patch with the ckxr link on filegone.

I just found this thread (thanks to the Civfanatics home page)

I've not tried this mod, but I like the idea.

Here's a thought (sorry if it's already been made)

Have an option, maybe in an ini file somewhere to set the hue for the terrain.

That way, a player could set the terrain to reddish so it would be like playing on Mars.

I mean, it's basically the same Science Fiction.

By making to where a person can pick any hue, then they could pretend it is any planet.

I call Jupiter! Even though the gravity will crush me to a ball of carbon the size of a micro-organism, I'll colonizse it!

I imagine Jupiter has a number of goodsized LaGrange points upon which to station a satellite with some BIG radiation shields. Maybe you can after all. Heh.

I don't think any of would mind if you changed anything and put your cities anywhere in the Galaxy. You'd have to ask Matt how to make red terrain though.
