I don't often get to the stage where the UN is built, and recently I've been playing with only the Mastery victory by Sevo: click-me-do, so I'm curious to know the common strategies concerning the various non-victory UN resolutions, as often I don't know which way to vote.

1) Do you find any use for the global civic resolutions? Do you aim to propose any of these or have a firm like/dislike for any of them?

2) As for single currency etc, these resolutions benefit everyone, but especially those already in the lead. If you had less cities than a rival, would you want everyone to have an extra trade route per city?

3) In my recent game, Hannibal voted to ban nuclear weapons whilst he was building the Manhattan Project, the fool... and of course the AI all hate nukes and voted to ban them. I've modded this resolution out of the game because I feel it completely ruins the modern era nuclear tension. Anyone else feel the same?

(I've searched but couldn't find a discussion about UN strategy)

I have a love/hate relationship with the UN. My biggest love issue is that once it comes in play I no longer have to worry about the possibility of nukes. I guess we have a different take on them.

Where the UN is simply terrible is if everyone else votes for a global environmentalism civic and you have a large empire. Often being forced out of State Property can be a killer. All of the other forced civics are fine - in the end-game I'm almost always in Universal Sufferage, Free Speech, Emancipation, and Free Religion. Plus Free Religion world civic makes old religions alliances that have held together no longer function. Since I normally beeline free-religion and swap into it, it hurts the AIs more than me.
