The Vanguard

Ooooh, basketcase won't like you making up statements. Oh, and a question to basketcase:
BasketCase said:
Last night I completely lost my head and started playing ahead again. I mean, WAY ahead. Like well into the AD years. The screenshots you've seen so far?? HA! Those are nothing compared to what the AI's started throwing at me. Picture those same shots with five times as many units on them, all coming straight at YOU. Now picture that happening every single turn for the entire game. That's basically what happened. I was tearing my hair out trying to keep Andor Gen'Shar from getting completely overrun!
Have you gotten (or almost gotten) to this point yet? Where are you in the game right now?

Awesome update as always Basketcase!! Is that actually a specific unit or did you just edit the picture in Photoshop?

Nice update! What technology allows you to build it? Is it the Gen Shar's UU, replacing Modern Armor? BTW, the original strike force plan of India is different than what you actually did.

Excellent, excellent!

Guys, it's only been 4 days! He'll get to it! Hopefully in under 3 weeks.

I've been lurking and reading this thread for a while now. What a great story! Can someone make this into a .bic scenario? My poor vanilla version can't handle your fancy .bix files.

Traffic Jam, welcome to CFC!!! :woohoo: [party] :band: :bday:
well, I think changing it would'nt be too hard- all that would have to be done would be to copy the scenario files into a vanilla scenario, but I could be wrong...
That, or you could buy PTW or C3C.

Thanks for the welcome!

I tried to convert the file, but the vanilla scenario editor couldn't read it. I think vanilla can't convert files from bix because it is a later version - kinda like how Access 2003 can read Access 2000 and Access 2003 files, but Access 2000 can only read Access 2000 files. Somethin' like that.

I said, someone else can do this... you're to inexperienced at modding this game to be able to figure out. Sadly, I am too. But like I said, just getting C3C or PTW would be much easier... :)

Oh, my bad. I thought you were telling me to edit the scenario.

Buying PTW or C3C would be easier......... but the wife gives me enough trouble for all the time I spend playing Vanilla. It would only get worse with more versions to play!

It easy enough to mod a scenario like this. Open up the vanilla editor, just rename one nation, Basketcase used the Romans, then assign them modern age techs, make a few other modifications which Basketcase mentioned I believe regarding resources.

If you do OCC make sure that you place your nation in a good location along the coast.

I've never modded a scenario before. I'm afraid I'd mess it up, that's why I was asking for a download. Maybe, I'll give it a shot - never a better time to learn how to mod, huh? How do you assign techs to a nation?

TrafficJam, welcome to CFC. :wavey:

It's much easier to mod conquests than vanilla (modding vanilla was a ... female dog). And, don't get PTW, get conquests directly, as that includes everything you need from PTW.

And, you can always tell the wife that if you get conquests you'll stop playing vanilla. I haven't played it since I got PTW, which was a while ago. ;)
