This is very stange- Sandal was Beeri Brawls vassal. I invaded the shades and was sure I destroyed them, Sandal even came up in his pop-up saying how he shouldn't have feared death, but his score of ~1000 and name were still on the score chart. After I made peace with the dwarves I was still at war with the Sidar. I contacted them and he agreed to capitulate. But he no resources, not even mana, and apparently no cities! Here is the save:

did you check 'require complete kills'? then start searching for his ships or workers hidden in neighbouring cities...

No, require complete is not on... at least I don't think so. I'll check.
Edit- no, it's not, as I killed the dark elves while they still had ships sailing around. But good idea.

Could you have inadvertantly reloaded a save from before you destroyed them? If not, that really is cheating death!

i had this same thing happen to me. I apprantly had killed the Clan. His "wow i wish i wasnt dead" popup came on and he had no cities left. his name was still on the board though and he still had about 450 points. He then capitulated to me but he should have been dead.

even if theyre a permanent ally, I'm pretty sure their score goes to zero.

I can understand why a permanent ally's score would stay (since presumably it still contribites to that of their surviving ally), but I can't see why you'd still be able to communicate with them. Odd.

Sidar was neither a permenant ally or had anything to do with Gibbom. However, a couple turns after I re-declared on the Luchirip he died again, and this time his score went away.
