The Wonder Thread.

What about the Taj Mahal? Mughal Leader for India confirmed ;) but yeah sure expansions etc.. New Wonders and all that....I really like Maccu Piccu tho :(, Guilds... Yay :)......awwww :(

I think Akbar would slot into Civ VI's India really well. He'd keep the War Elephants and the religious plurality ability, but would throw out Gandhi's silly peacenik ability and have some good bonus to incorporating and pacifying conquered cities  .

Where is the information about Broadway coming from? I agree that that sounds very weak unless late game civics are extremely powerful

Maybe they'll add Macchu Picchu in the inevitable Inca DLC. Or maybe Mr Beach doesn't believe MP is exceptionally significant, but hopefully there will be at least a couple of Andean civ wonders eventually.

If the Aztecs and the Huey Teocalli are any indication, Machu Pichu will indeed make its way until DLC.

To me it makes more sense to couple certain wonders with either new civs or extra leaders (as opposed to just bundling a bunch together like the Ancient wonders dlc). So as others have mentioned, Akbar as second leader of India with Taj Mahal wonder included.

I think the likelihood of of Macchu Returning are interesting. For one, it's the only wonder that is actually just a city, whilst Chichen and Angkor Wat are represented by a building within their complexes (i.e Chichen Itza is actually Temple of Kulkatan (I think), and Angkor Wat is.. an Angkor Wat.

But, on the other hand, Macchu Picchu could have some special abilities. For one, we have no no mountain-based wonders yet., it could add some very interesting abilities (enables units to pass through mountains for example) among other things (gain adjacency bonuses for all districts beside mountains).

I guess we will see. Personally I am very pleased, you got the key ones, and you got some very nice ne wones.

But the exclusion of Taj Mahal is very surprising, but what is more surprising that both times, it started a Golden Age... there has been NO mention of Golden Ages in Civ 6.

What would make Macchu Picchu awesome would be if it was actually a Settler. First person to build it and place it locks it out for everyone else. Replaces the City Center.

Wouldn't mind a few other Wonder-Units (e.g. Trojan Horse) that only one civ can ever build.

I'm really concerned all the "mountain" based wonders (Machu Pichu, Rushmore, Christo Redentor, etc) are gonna be handled the same way Petra is. Really concerned.

Potala Palace has to be on a hill adjacent to a mountain, so they handle different ones differently.

So a Unique Settler that can traverse Mountains but can only found a city on a mountain.... that would be cool :) The wonder units i am not so sure on, just for lack of really unique and "wonder"ful examples. I suppose that big ass train artillery piece the Germany made could work. Can only travel on Railways's but has like 4 range :). But really how many actually are there?

Yes exactly what I was thinking. A Settler that had Mountain movement. When you settled on the Mountain, the City Center would be Macchu Picchu, and have different buildings than the standard ones (or perhaps just great yields and no need to build buildings in city center at all).

I could see the Trojan Horse as a modified Settler or Battering Ram that captures 1 City State automatically. Sort of like Austria's old ability, but 1 time only, anyone can build it, first to it gets it.

@Isau... sure the Trojan Horse would work but if you are going to have 1 "wonder unit" you kinda need afew more. my point is that there wouldnt be that a many to choose from, The Trojan horse is kinda unique to itself, thats all. I really think you would need about 10 or so to fully implement it as a game mechanic. What about as unique projects, that way they dont have to be units per se but give the Civ a once off unique benefit.... idk :dunno:

If nothing else, it is a great idea for a Mod :)

I'm slightly annoyed that the Hagia Sophia has minarets (unless they are some sort of upgrade, which I doubt).

Maybe devs consciously made HS have minarets to mark the Ottoman influence on it? After all they renovated it from decline, conserved for 500 yesrs and expanded using Islamic patterns.
Or that was just mistake.Or they thought HS looks better with minarets :P

Didn't the Hagia Sophia always have those minarets in the previous two games?

You're right, they did!

I guess that's the most iconic appearance for it nowadays. As another thought, at least in Civ VI One Wonder per Tile means we won't get drowned pyramids or wonders falling into rivers anymore!

In Theodora's leaderscreen it had its Byzantine appearance, though:

The great rail canon was discussed here (someone even created a model on civ5) and could be a cool Wonder unit. I like the fact it is bounded to railroads, making it more strategic.
Otherwise, the SS Great Eastern could be a nice Industrial Era Wonder (Don't know what we could do with it however.. can be relocated in different cities? Extra trade route?)

Speaking about the mountains, I hope wonders relative to them will be back. I loved Macchu Picchu and Neuschwanstein Castle, but with the one-Wonder-per-tile system, I'm afraid it will be complicated (no use for Chinese ability since units cannot cross mountains, etc.)
