Yeah! Finally! A WWII airplanes thread! Woohoooooo! I voted Spitfire, though I prefer the Focke-Wulf FW 190. And Mikoyan, the Fins had the Fokker D XXI as well, you knew that. It was the best Dutch aircraft at the time.

Two obvious ommisions I see.

First the Locheed P-38 lightning, which had the highest kill ratio of any propellar driven fighter in history, and was the mount of the USA's highest scoring ace, Richard Bong (40 kills).

The second is the Ki-84 Hayate (Frank), a deadly fighter the Japenese introduced in the last year of the war, that outperformed both hellcats and Mustangs!

I also spotted a factual error in the other thread, the highest scoring pilot of all time was German Erich Hartmann, with 354 confirmed kills, all against Russian aircraft.

I was temped by the cool Spitfire, but decided to vote for the
Evil Me109, Coz I had a huge model of it has a kid!!!

But before I go here is a Me262 with a lethal Pak 45mm Bomber
busting gun! B17s beware!!!

I agree, the Fw190 is one of the most legendary interceptors of
all time, it ranks along side the Mustang and Spitfire!
