Things in this game that annoy you to no end

#1 (my alltime favourite)
the one evil barb galley, that slowly and unstopable moves towards your capitals fish resourses...

#2
vasall states on the same continent having fun poisening your citys to the ground... and I can´t even declare war

#3
beying one turn behind... in completing wonders, moving my settler to the desired place, while noticing an enemy settler+archer stack heading same direction (and placing the city just one damn square next to the optimal tile)

#4
pressing enter, enter, enter, enter in the early days...

Wasn't this fixed in 3.19? Or am I dreaming again?

Try updating civ, as I think this was fixed in a previous patch (I think it said something like 'vassal states will no longer launch spy missions on a master civilisation)

It doesn't stop them sending spies through / around your civilisation however!

ah, could be... It happend to me just one time... after that I never ever made vasalls on "my" continent again...

I have seen an AI destroy another AI but the circumstances turned out to unusual. Although a Fractal map (Emperor, Epic), Hannibal and Ragnar were on a large island/mini-continent offshore (more than galley distance) the main landmass, and so isolated.

Viewing the replay, Ragnar had it made. He was central and ought to have been able to settle most of the land. Hannibal started on the east coast. Ragnar had settled his fourth city to the west, i.e. away from Hannibal, not long before war broke out. I guess Hannibal must have had a barb-munching wandering experienced archer that side othe island and suddenly the new city turned orange. Peace broke out but it still looked from the replay map as if Ragnar could hold his own. But when the next war broke out, according to the game log, Ragnar had a series of bad random events, forges burning down, tornadoes stiking and the like, and all his cities went very quickly. Pre-Feudalism (for those two) I suppose.

No, it didn't annoy me in the slightest. I just wish I'd been aware of it while playing, it would have cheered me up when the AP gave Tolosa back to the Celts and split my empire in two. As it was, I only became aware of Ragnar's fomer presence when conquering Nidaros later .

My post wasn't meant as listing an annoyance, just an obervation to those who complained earlier that AIs never fight each other to elimination. Rarely, I'd agree but not never.

How about Joao? Does he actually every research any techs? Every game, I have these visions of him just begging every tech in the tree one by one from me and the other AIs in the game.

My current game.

Cathy: Give me tech! <Slap>
Cathy: Give me other tech! <Slap>
Cathy: Now give me gold! <Slap>
Lemon Merchant: (With blood boiling) You ^%^$& &^%&^&!!!!! I'll teach you to--
"Mrs. Merchant": Honey, calm down. It's just a stupid game...

Arrrgh! The sad part is that she's right.

I get annoyed that the sound get louder if you promote for example 20 units versus 1 unit. With even more units promoted I turn off the speaker to not get angry neighbours.
Same problem when lots of war declarations are done in the same time.

haha so true. What the heck were they thinking, there must be a way to control this? Come on sound guys!

I hate jungles. Less productive, you need IW to clear them, they are unhealthy, and they often hold calendar resources, which I also hate. One game, there was 4 sugar in my capital's BFC! There was one corn, in a valley of hills so irrigating it with Civil Service would be impossible, so it wasn't totally broken. When I finally got Calendar, I changed my name to Da Sugar Daddy, and gave it all out. Wish I'd taken screenshots.

I also hate Monty, non-zealots DoW at only -4, and Tokugawa.

The game I was just playing I had Oromo Warriors and I was giving em drill 4 but due to lag or something it kept giving em pinch instead! Not a terrible promotion but Oromos are one of the few times I bother with the Drill line because they beg me to do so and then I get Drill 4 rifles and infantry which are good.

Also this board has become the dude who leaves his christmas lights up till july
