First Off, we DON"T live in a Democracy. That why our government system is called a Democratic Republic. If you have a problem with the way the electoral College works, go dig up the founding fathers and b*tch at them.

Too bad that it's the truth. the American Gov system is NOt a democracy. The Only True democracy left in the World is that of the "Isle of Man", electing REPRESENTITIVEs to vote for you is called a republic. So the US is a republic.

This old thread on this is still a classic; very very funny. And it would have been more funny if Lord of Civ had been around at the time! :)

Some highlights:

You find me someone in this administration that calls America a Democratic Republic. Go find me one, bro, then we can talk semantics. Secondly, I never said we were a democracy, I was pointing out the falacy of the Republicans who consistantly call for "democracy around the world". Let's get one here first... as to the founding fathers, I'm sure there are many things they set into motion which they would find in err in our modern times. For example: they didn't see it fit to free blacks or allow them OR women the right to vote. Or, maybe blacks should've dug up our founding fathers and b*tched at them during the 60's?

Also, the electoral college has been ammended 3 times and 2 of those certainly weren't ammended by our founding fathers. Thanks tho.
 
There are a lots of illogicalities (is that even a word?) in Civ's, but there are also some little gameplay-related aspects, that cause funny things when they're examined more closely.
For example, in my game that I'm playing atm, Mecca is the holy city for all the other religions found in the game but not for Islam. Talking about Jerusalem^10.
Altough there are things that don't make sense, Civ IV is balancing on the border of falling into the pit of micromanaging and realism taken too far, and succeeds to maintain the gaming pleasure.

P.S. I took me this long to realize that the space race is a race TO space, not in it (like "the human race"). I feel dumb. :D

P.P.S Could you argue somewhere else? Face-2-Face for example? ;)

1 day is not too late. Some of your posts are very short and are useless annoying posts. And... you are still trying to rile me further. Infact, i went back and said the same thing as you said after in an annoying post: discrediting me by saying that i am like 8 yrs old. Who the heck do you think you are blizkrieg1980? So you don't want me to leave this thread and stop the fight. You should actually say thanks that i don't even report your early annoying statement. Obviously, i cannot continue with the debate with very annoying people like you.

Asking dumb question to people who had dismissed the debate or who came back to re-edit posts was certainly part of your childish game in riling the people and ruining the discussion....:lol:

I'm so sorry, I meant no true malice, I (like many thickheaded Americans ;)) like to fuel the fires that burn inside people.
