hopefully you do because i have a probably very easy question for y'all.

just got civ4. played a couple games, and then decided to play my roommate in hot seat mode on my computer, just me vs. him,,. anyways we played for a long time with no war then when i decided to go to war i realized i could not. The diplomacy screen comes up for trading but not the regular diplomacy with the 'lets discuss something else">>>then on to the "head on a pole thing".

I have tried to figure it out but cannot, or can you simply not start a war with the other hotseat player.

other notes
-permanent peace was not on
-we had contacted eachother, had a few trades etc.
-i am running it on vista, and have not downloaded any patches
-i set up another game with a couple AI civ inb it and still the same thing can start war with them but cannot start a war with other human..

please tell me we can fight..a simple cutural or diplomatic victory is useless for our ongoing battles of whatever, we need to explode some cities.

okay just looked for replies and realized people are looking without replying, maybe you just dont know but it could be my needlessly long question.....

Can you declare war on another human in hotseat mode????????

Yes, you should be able to. Make sure open borders are canceled and then move a unit into their territory. It should ask if you want to go to war.

I think that you can also right click(?) on their civ name in the lower right and that might be an option, not sure.

alt + click should do the trick... I find it strange that Trainwreck20 didn't know this though...

thanks, of course that works, i saw the 'alt' thing on the screen and was just hitting alt and thinking why wont this start a war....because its alt+click dummass ......well y'all are smart and i'm not.....you should see my starving civ with no culture and a few fancy weapons...at least my friends is the same without any fancy weap[ons
