We wonder how many cities the Dutch will loose before they accept the fact they can't defeat us. Furthermore French troops manned the fortress and are in position to strike at Antwerp. How many cities will follow the same sad fate of Liege and Bruges, how many innocent will have to die ? Well are not quilty of starting this war and we did not recklessly throw away so many lives for a lost cause. Perhaps one day the Netherlands and England will recognize what they did to Europe in their greediness and will make an end to this madness. They have the power to stop this war all you have to do is sign a peace-treaty. Think about it in the name of all innocent inhabitants in Europe.

I know you may find this hard to believe but no I dont obsess about Overlord flying over America. I would search the net for Superman and see what they have. There has to be a picture of him flying somewhere on the net. He was a major cultural icon for years. I used to read those comics all the time when I was a kid. OOPs Im dating myself again.

I just searched the net for Napolean to get my picture, then cropped it and then resized it to below 65X65 pixels which is the size limit for a custom avatar. Used Hyper Snap DX to do it.

Seems like you guys are having a blast! I wish the Colonies 3.12 game I have been playing for over a year had anything like as much action!

To answer an earlier question/comment: yes, the French do start with a lot of (mostly) veteran cavalty. This is deliberate, as this arm was famed throughout Europe at this time. However, if they fling them away against fortified cities, they are making a mistake!

Steve - great to hear you say "shouldn't the victor get some spoils?" or words to that effect in this game. That's what we have been trying to tell the Russians in Boney Tournament Game #2 all this time!

You didn't agree with us - don't expect Darius to agree with you (especially when the testosterone starts to flow)!

When Darius said this is a Colonisation game, not a war-in-Europe game, he was right. However, there is too little to enforce this, the way 3.x is set up. Colonies IV allows for big European wars, because that was the focus of the European sovereigns at the time. Only as time went on did they begin to see the value of their colonies.

Well I really have much fun in the Colony-games hmm I think this has something to do when "The Once Exiled Bump King" and "The Overlord flies over America while everybody sleeps" are coming together in one thread. Hey con, I just realized our alliance needs a name: how about the clown-alliance?
