Third Colonies PBEM

Well that is what I could see and guess from the game turn. If they were veteran units Im sure that would help, and sometimes you just get lucky, I still wonder how you dropped city walls in two towns so easily. But Ive seen two exact turns played where one turn my units get slaughtered and another turn my units kick ass with hardly any losses. (Yop73 has been forgeting to ctrl-n a lot in Another Colonies.)

Guess we will have to see what the Overlored has to say as he flies over America during our slumber!:)

Just so you know there aren't any barracks in this scenario, so veterancy isn't an issue.

Yes I know but we have been at war for quite a few turns and he could have made some veterans. I think I know where you are going here and I certainly hope that isnt the case, and maybe Im naive but I just dont think Overlord is the type.

Nah no accusations, I'm just curious where it came from. He probably has a lot more than I think. :crazyeye:

I have not played France much but the last time I did play France I was amazed how many horse units you start out with :)

The Overlord today makes an early visit as he flies over America and it's not sleeping-time there but I will still find you :D

For everybody who has any doubt about my honesty:

At first I'm not very happy to tell because now you can defend properly and perhaps I might loose my advantage but on the other hand I will not have any accusation of doing something wrong on me therefore I will tell you my secrets ;):

1) Actually veterancy is an issue because ALL units the French started with are Veteran and my vet Musq a Chevalier destroyed your pikeman but my unit got red too.

2) I sold many improvements and rush-build new units.

3) I stored the units in Reims and Metz so I can attack with all of them at the same time. Also the Musq's have high movement-points so they can go long distances and still attack in one turn.

If you would've played the game with the French one time you would've noticed it and would not start a war with me ;) I still have many units but well I warned you.

Now you know my tactic and I fear you will act accordingly in your turn

Darius I must say I'm a little bit disappointed I thought a veteran player like you should know the possibility of veteran status from the begin of the game AND rushbuilding but anyway hope I've cleared even the slightest shadow of a doubt.

THANK YOU Con for believing in me, pal :goodjob:
The Overlord

No problem my Austrian friend and we did warn them!]:D

The Overlord

There wasn't any doubt you guys, I was just surprised and curious. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. :(

The city of Calais was briefly occupied, destroying the regiment of Arquebusiers who were in the town.
The troops however left, though they first sabotaged the port. (sold it) A privateer with 2 boarding parties, sitting duck next to Den Haag was destroyed. A demi-calvurin near Calais was also destroyed.
A Spanish regiment of pikemen, and a Spanish regiment of arquebusiers in Puerto Principe were destroyed.

We again urge Spain and France to stop their aggressive war, and to look for peace and trade, instead of military aggression. We again stress the fact that England is fighting a defensive war, after deeds of aggression by the French.
See your mistake, we are killing your units like flies. Stop wasting the lives of the innocent civilians.

- A counterattack from Antwerp and our secondary defensive line before it recaptured the southern fortress and destroys FIVE stacked french units north of Reims! I would think you could at least spread out your forces, Overlord.

- Our Caribbean privateers have again emptied Trinidad, burning a galleon in port in the process. Caracas has been emptied as well.

Thats what Overlord has been trying to tell you. Plus he has a lot more cities so he can produce and replace losses quicker than the Dutch or Great Britain.

You both are forgetting one thing: my republican government is pumping out so much goddam gold that I can rush-build a unit in every city every other turn. This lets me build so many units that industrially I'm almost on par with France's numerous cities building units conventionally. Combine this with the fact that I am achieving tactical victories due to my defensive position, and also with the fact that Spain is too far away and navally impotent to participate in the theater, and altogether we have a balanced war. You two are WAY too confident. If a large number of cities is the only indication of strength in your minds than you're in big trouble.

Also I thought I'd make a case about the nature of this scenario; it is not like a WWII or Napoleonic scenario where you try to make major conquests in Europe, it is a colonies PBEM. I don't know why we're sitting here talking about conquering the Netherlands or saying "see you in London". This wasn't intended in the creation of the scenario, this is about limited overseas wars and trade mainly, not "build units and kick some ass". I'm not complaining, I just thought I'd point that out.

Well then why did you start this war?:D

Yup, you started the war, attacked Con, took his cities and when we retaliate you are wondering :)?

Oh, of course Calais recaptured and the next round in the battle of the fortress: We took it again.

"Spain is too far away and navally impotent to participate in the theater" Darius Quote

Sunk British Man of War in the Atlantic.

Ill tell you what Darius, give me all your caribean colonies, all your money and all your techs, France gets all your North American colonies and all your techs and Antwerp, Then we can have peace.:D

At the beginning of the scenario my troops are in place to take Antwerp, and it seems silly to take that city but not the other two. I was planning on a limited war, a "rebellion" that would engulf those two cities and end in a peace treaty, not an unending march to Madrid.

See you at the bull fights in Madrid!

If you would have stopped at Antwerp this war would not be going on now. You got greedy. It continues.:p :p
And by the way British King it is Darius's war of agression not mine. You could have stayed nuetral but did not, therefore you will eventually pay as well.......:p :p

More French and Spanish troops killed. Calais again occupied, but empty again.
More hit and run attacks destroy a demi-calvurin near Calais.

Just curious , where were the Spanish Troops killed?
