THQ shutting down, studios auctioned off.

I actually liked where most of these titles ended up in the end, but Darksiders not getting anybody is what is confusing me most of all. A critical success/commercial failure game is just lacking the correct marketing scheme. Activision, EA, or Ubisoft could all afford much larger campaigns than THQ could at the end.

It's just sad that good games fail to sell without large marketing campaigns, which gives corporations like EA or Activision even stronger lead.

Didn't realize it but the auction has a round two:

I strongly suspect this may lead to a digital distribution of some old titles like Homeworld. This could be more good news for RTS fans if it leads to a new Homeworld (not sure of the terms of the prior Relic sale), or a return to the Supreme Commander in the more Total Annihilation style (at least maybe as DLC for SupCom1).

Full Spectrum Warrior was a decent little series too.

And probably some the oldies on GOG.com.

Well BREAKERS is homeworld 2.5
And Relic cant really do wrong with COH2.

MMORTS with social features.
I don't understand why any dev would think this is a good idea. That pretty much says "there is a 99% chance we have already ruined the game before you've seen it!".

Come on people, this is NOT EA ...........
Ahhh screw it, wheres my X-Rebirth ?

So new Homeworld IP owner is unknown but I do know Stardock came in 2nd for the bid. (so Sega or Paradox?)

Hmmm. this doesn't sound like a Space RTS at all:
http://blackbirdinteractive.com/games/

It doesn't sound horrible, just saying it doesn't sound like it's a game in the exact same vein as Homeworld.

Interesting game, could be good, but the whole point of Homeworld was the three-dimensional RTS gameplay. Otherwise it'll just be another RTS :<

Well its official Gearbox Software got Homeworld IP. Part of me wishes Paradox or Stardock got it and the other hopes for the best with GS handling it.
