Agree with Lee's sentiments with regard to Medicine - I normally go for Steam Power before Nationalism, unless I feel the need for riflemen to defend my cities. Medicine and Sanitation are lowest on my list, often bypassed in favour of Scientific Method (and Theory of Evolution) to get the tech lead.

Inherited Turn - 1655AD
Somebody sure likes building factories. Some of them are in hopelessly corrupt places, but I will rush them when the cost is not extortionate.
I trust Lee's judgements regarding city micromanagement, and save myself some time.
Warwick builds factory, starts cathedral. Let's get some WLTK days going!!

(1) 1660AD
All turns involved movement of workers, so I won't mention it any more.

(2) 1665AD
Aztecs are gathering on our borders. Could this be a sneak attack? If they move into our lands, I'll see if I can get any tech off them for gold-per-turn deals, which will expire immediately if they declare war.

(3) 1670AD
Aztecs remain within their borders. This persists for the rest of my turns.
Newcastle completes factory, starts University.
Get scientific method in 1 turn @ 30%. Net 400 gold.
Damn! No palace placeholder for Theory of Evolution.

(4) 1675AD
Scientific Method completes. I figure I can get Replacable Parts in before Theory of Evolution, so start researching that. Start Theory of Evolution in London - due in 15 turns. It's size 12 so micromanage for maximum production, now at 41 shields. This will increase as I order railroads in every square worked there.

(5) 1680AD
Run science at 70% to get replaceable parts in 5. Deficit of 33 gold per turn, but we have nearly 4,000 in the treasury.

(6) 1685AD
Babylonians start Shakespeare's Theater. Aren't they a bit behind the times?

(7) 1690AD
London railroading project completed. Now cranking 49 shields per turn. 1 turn shaved off Theory of Evolution.

(8) 1695AD
Steveopolis now cranking out 52 shields per turn with the factory completed.

(9) 1700AD
York has a minor overirrigation problem? huh?
Drop science to 50% for 1 turn to save money on Replacable parts.
Zulu's tell us we're IGNORANT when we're two techs ahead! They want a territory map exchange. I accept, as they're far away and if they do decide to declare war, they'll have to trapse through Germany to get to us.
We get Replacable Parts, start the Corporation, which will complete before Theory of Evolution comes online.
Hmm... Now the Aztecs are starting Shakespeare's :smoke:

(10) 1705AD
I love workers on speed and steroids :)
Begin building infantry and artillery as some cities complete their infrastructure projects. If there's still infrastructure to be built, it takes precedence over military.
Upgrade 50 riflemen to infantry
Upgrade 6 cannon to artillery.

(11) 1710AD
A confusing interchange of pressing "F" and SHIFT+"R" multiple times, while trying not to fortify my workers or force my infantry into railroad building.
Zululand and Germany sign a peace treaty. I had no idea they were at war.

(12) 1715AD
I hurry a whole bunch of courthouses. Need to get some borders sealed in our outlying cities.
Only just noticed the insane production of Hastings, now that it's factory completed on this turn. 68 shields per turn. It has a river within it's boundaries. Easy decision - Palace placeholder for Hoover started.
I laugh as the Persians and the Russians get on the Shakespeare bandwagon. The Persians also start Universal Sufferage while they're at it. Thankfully, Universal Sufferage is only 2 turns away for us.

(13) 1720AD
Drop science to 50%, still get the Corporation in 1 turn.
Corporation is learned. Switch to Atomic Theory at 0% science as Theory of Evolution is due in 4 turns.
Lots of factories come online. Most cities have no infrastructure to build, so are cranking out Infantry and Artillery.

(14) 1725AD
One citizen in Newcastle is changed to a scientist.
Hmm... Persians must've switched from Shakespeare's to Universal Sufferage. Now they switch back again. Indecisive AI.
[party] Universal Sufferage is completed in Salamanca [party]

(15) 1730AD
I start to park military units outside Hastings. Separate piles of cavalry, artillery and infantry. I am also beginning to siphon off anything over two infantry in each city into those piles.

(16) 1735AD
Many temples are hurried in outlying cities. Who cares about the expense? I'm making 630 gold per turn right now.

(17) 1740AD
Germany jump onto the Shakespeare's bandwagon. I think of the wasted AI shields and smile.
[party] Theory of Evolution completed in London [party]
We get Atomic Theory and Electronics. Start Sanitation - 4 turns @ 50% - I finally decide that we need some hospitals.

(18) 1745AD
Hastings switches over to Hoover Dam. Due in 7 turns.

(19) 1750AD
(20) 1752AD
Rushed factory in Eridu. We need a temple there fast as it's in danger of being swamped by Babylon.

Notes:
Military units are being stockpiled outside Hastings.
Hoover Dam due in about 5 turns in Hastings.

...and the save...

Ok, I've got it. Can't do it now, but should get it done in the next day or two. Looks like we'll be going to war with the Aztecs soon.

Isn't Iron works wonderful ;)

Consider Hastings is now 68 shields, at a size 9!
I may be able to crank out a tank a turn after hoover.

Here it is, just a short summary, not too much happened. Pre-turn, I upgraded some units, and split our forces into 2 groups, so they can just march up each side of the aztecs territory. :D

Bismark wanted an mpp, instead he got 600 gold, our dyes and spices, for Free Artistry and Communism.

Sanitation is learned, begin Refining, so we can find those oil! Due in 7 turns. All cities size 12 begin hospitals.

In 1758, I got the aztecs world map, territory map, 16 gold(their treasury), and then I got the city of Teayo. It was renamed to Gullible, seeing as the Aztecs are going to be booted off the continent. :nuke: Then I declared war! :tank: The city of Xochicalco was captured next turn, it is renamed Iroquois so its easier to say. :) Also a coal source was stolen there.

The Hoover Dam was completed in 1762, and Hastings is now at 79 production, with the iron square in pollution. hehehe. Calixtlahuaca was captured in the same turn!

Battlefield Medicine was begun in Salamanca. Tlacopan is captured.

Hastings begins Shakespears Theatre, 5 turns. Might as well build the only available wonder, and waste ai shields at the same time. Texcoco and Tlaxcala are captured!

Refining was learnt in 1770, Steel was begun, due in 6 turns. Unfortunately, I forgot to look to see where the oil was. :( Thats up to Kefka now.

Also to note, I stockpiled a few forces in Uruk and Eridu. I see good oportunities for us if we take out the babs next. Only 1 border with the persians for us to worry about. Except for the few cities dotted around the edges continent, but they don't worry us.

War with the Aztecs :goodjob: well if you didn't start that war then then I would of :hammer:
Is it just me or have I been Involved in everysingle war that we have had so far :goodjob: GREAT!
oui have done well ;)
oh I got the download.

1770 AD; As Kefka was sworn in as the new leader of the Iroqouis, he promised to clear our continent off the Aztec threat.

In 1772 the two groups of troops advance on their respected cities, and I HATE POLLUTION!

1774 AD; Kefka Increases the spending on science from 50% to 60% for a loss of 43 gold per turn.

In 1776 AD we took over the Aztec city of Tlatelaco and renamed it Bumrush.

Two years later in 1778 AD the Aztecs capital city of Tenchitlan was taken over and we gained control of the GREAT WALL, to forever mark the city we named it Thewallcity.
Elsewere the Shakespeares Theater was completed.
our people are happy this turn as two Wonders come under our control :goodjob:

(5)In 1780 AD our nation learns the secrets of Steel and we search for Combustion in an attempt to get tanks as quick as possible.
also in this year Medics are sent to the front lines to help our troops after being traned in the newly formed Battlefield Medicine center.

1782 AD; we take over the city of Teotihuacan and wipe the skum Aztecs off our continent, since this war has become unpopular Kefka contacted the Aztecs and made peace with them. We also renamed the city of Teotihuacan to Aztecgone.

In 1784 Kefka decided that our Calvary was no longer of any use so they all went to the nearest Aztec occupied city and Disbanded themselfs, the Calvary will ride no more in the great Iroqois nation.
also I was Visited by russia and they wanted a trade of territory maps, I said okay what ever you say and trade with her.
As Catherine was in the palace, Kefka begin to notice her great stench :vomit: and I offerd to sell her Sanitation, she accepted and gave us some gold per turn and a down payment of gold.

In 1786 Kefka went on a mission to eliminate the stinkyness of all the nations around him so he offered to sell Sanitation to every nation in the world and got nearly 100 or so gold per turn from all of them together. Exept for Zululand cause they seemed to enjoy stinking up there country cause they did not want Sanitation.
Kefka anouces to the country that because of the massive Wealth (literally) and the great amout of money gained from teaching other civs the simple task of washing oneself, we are gaining enough money to jack Science up to 70%.

1788 AD; Kefka just sat around and ate a hamburger from Wendys, and complaned that they sell their fry sause for 25 Cents apeice while other fast food restraunts give that away with their frys

In 1790 AD; We learn Combustion and search for the secrets or Mass Production.
Kefka failed to win a second term as he ends his presidencey after 10 turns.

Good stuff Kefka! :goodjob: Once we get tanks, I say build up for war with the Babylonians. And secure the former aztec cities of course. :D You're up lkendter, looks like a mainly infrastructure turn for you!

HEY I DON'T TAKE KINDLY TO THAT KIND OF ATTITUDE! :p I did win the war for us and all you can say "Stuff Kefka!" :( J/K
Well Stuff you
ok thats enough about that typo

Once we get tanks, I say build up for war with the Babylonians.
and you say your not a Warmonger  with this game that is becoming hard to belive  ah don't worry I am a Warmonger too two out of three wars were started on your turn ;) and one on mine.

Pre-turn - Drop science 20%, and 1 turn delay in arrival of mass production.
We have wall street, but just $246???????
Hastings can produce an infantry a turn :)
Disband 3 out of date swordsman - why pay for worthless units.
Let's go trading - Only deal worth it - Incense to Russia for $70 and $13/turn.

1792 AD - Begin fixing JungleVille - It was using all water squares???
Factory in 39 turns, make that 26 turns.
York producing an obscene amount of excess food - time to start mining.
We build a factory in a permantly size 2 city?
1794 AD - We have a ton of Iron, I don't understand the colony.
Building more workers - we are way short - especially if we start fighting and need to extend rail lines.
Seeing my favorite message - Culture borders are expanding.
1796 AD - TellyTubbyLand another MicroManagement mess - mostly using water squares.
1798 AD - I am happy to report that JungleVille has production, factory now due in just 14 turns with 1 square to mine.
Fixing Grand River, mining two UNUSED grasslands, time to increase production.
Tanks are ordered.
1800 AD - Zulus offer furs - they refuse 4 luxuries for one - bite me Shaka.
I wouldn't even give you that - loser!
For that attitude - cancel RoP with Shaka.
1802 AD - Railnet completed in the former Aztec terriotory.
I love Hastings - A battleship in 2 turns :)
1804 AD - Just lots of workes doing stuff.
1806 AD - Why do I want a road near a Persian city?
LeeVille if formed - there was a lot of wasted space near our Capital.
1808 AD - Here come the tanks, here come the tanks, here come the tanks...
1810 AD - Start loading the transports - First is just infantry and artillery.
God I love hastings, a transport in 1 turn.
1814 AD - I am bored, what to do for some action?
1816 AD - :flamedevi: Pleace treaty has 3 turns left with the Aztecs :flamedevi:
Well Babylon has guts, was curious how he would react to a worker crossing his border.
1818 AD - Monty, whats a matter, don't like the 5 transports near your cities?
You know what, way more troops then needed just to clean up the Aztec trash - time to pick another target.
1820 AD - Screw it, we have enough units, WAR with Persia.
Oh stop whining trade advisor, who cares about Gems.
Our infantry cleans out the junk in front of Gordium, then our tanks take it.
With the border change, Dariush Kabir is in range, and we take it losing 1 tank.
Begin research on spies, it would be nice.
Persia much have RoP with Babylon - lots of crap coming through there bordres.
1822 AD - Arbela falls costing 1 tank, Sammarra culture border goes out 4 squares!
The stack of crap units that crosses our borders are down to 5 units, are with 1 hp.
We took no losses.
Who cares - Germany and Persia trade embargo us.
1824 AD - Ghulman falls - we gain a few more workers.
The last of the crap units stack are dead - still no losses for us.
I hate the peace treaty crap sometimes, oh well, I still plan to attack Aztec next turn.
1826 AD - Tyre falls, costing us nothing.
Bactra falls, also costing us nothing.
War declared on Aztecs, a ton off troops land.
1828 AD - Tula, Tzin..., Chalco all fall.
Malinalco falls - costing us a tank and calvary to the killer rifleman.
Conventry falls - we have a PERMANENT source of gems.
I love watching armies die - the Aztec warrior army is dead.
Researching radio, the only thing left to leave Industrial age.
1830 AD - Susa, Sidon, Persepolis, Ixta all fall.
Tarsus falls, and I watch a couple of ships die.
I had to get through a lot of defenders, but Pasagadae falls.
Much of the resitance is over, so rushing several temples - time to start working on border lock.
 The babs want us to pay THEM for a MPP
1832 AD - Tlal..., Atzc..., all fall.

Summary - This one is over, clearly a domination victory, the only question is how much time.
Make sure to build temples - domination is % of total land squares owned.

I have started fortifing our workers by Salamanca - there are enough tasks left for now - However,

if you declare war on Babylon next (HINT! HINT!), you will need them (with protection) to start

building a rail net in Babylon territory.

http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads/THRAWN-1832AD.zip

We own 835 of 1832 land squares - 46% of the world.
I build multiple temples that will net more, and there are a few Persian cities left to take. I would suggest peace after the mainland, and the junk island that I have a stack of units moving on. Their other cities are just to far away for the moment.

Neither did I, but hey, now we're that much closer to victory! :D And I've never had a domination or conquest victory either, so whoever has the winning turn should post the turn before the end. You're up Arizona_Steve! Carry on to victory!

Yea I agree with that! I would like to put this victory in my game ;)

Uhhh...
Be glad I didn't do my first game plan :flamedevi:

I was going to try the Babs at the same time :crazyeye:
Of course, getting rid the Aztecs was better, as furious civs are much more dangerous...

I will stress it again - domination is % of squares owned -
build temple, expand borders, and closer to winning

Have fun, nice stack of ships by Hastings - we should be ready to invade another island soon.

I'll play and post my summary this evening. After a few boring rounds, both in this game and in Brian's B1, it's great to finally have some good ol' warmongering :)

B1 is also heading to Domination victory. I wonder if it's due to Lee playing in both games?

Well I have won my share of diplomatic wins,
some space races,
and even a 20000 pt culture city more then once.

Of course, I never had pulled off 100,000 culture :(

In this game, the decision was already made BEFORE i joined -
I just moved to help wrap it up.

LOL @ Lee. I know, I remember the diplomatic win in B2. Don't be offended, my girlfriend'll tell you I'm the biggest brat on the planet :D

Now Playing...

Update: 18 turns completed. Babylon is dead, Persia only have one city left.
