Before TF upgraded to vB3, the post title only copied to another post when quoting a post. Now it's in every post. I find it annoying. Why is it so?

Because of people using the quick reply so by default we are all replying to the first post. If you use the icon in the bottom right of a post then I believe the title from that post would be included. Its something to do with all the posts being linked to each other.

I've never paid attention to it...

it happens when you hit post reply too, not just quick reply

I actually find it kinda annoying, although I think it is there to remind you of the topic, and therefore potentially reduce your Spamming, although it doies not work for me, since I cannot type without looking at the keyboard, and not even then, sometimes . . .

I would nopt complain if it was TERMINATED!!!

I never even pay attention to those thread title things anyway.

You could change it.

I think it's there because a title is required.

So, it automatically selects the title of the post being replied to (by default you reply to the first post in the thread).

A title is not required. But oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with it... :undecide:

The title can be useful to show that you are talking about a slightly different topic or to simply give a title to your post if you are writing some kind of story in parts.

I know the title is useful, but I find it a little annoying when the thread title is copied to every post as "re: thread title"...

It reminds you what the heck context we are talking about during those 4AM OT debates!

Ankka, thread title is no longer to every post now. This actually speeds up things a litte because we don't need to load as many thread icons on the forum main page. :) Thanks for posting about it.

Edit: hmm... the part about forum main page doesn't seem to be true.
