This is Thunderfall speaking, back in 1998:
I can't help but laugh at my own foolishness (the second post).

Strategy: a matter of priority.......
How many of you when attacking enemy cities have a sense of priority in mind, that is, which city to attack first?
I think it is a good practice to decide which city to attack first. The high priority targets will be those cities that are Capitals, those that have important wonders built, or those that have high population. By capturing these cities, you succesfully take away the benefits of the those Wonders, decrease their productivity, and reduce their population tremendously. Furthermore, it's not always the case that the "better" the city, the harder it is to captured. Keep this "priority" in mind next time......
A strange thing happened to my Spy
I am not sure if any of your spies have encountered this strange
thing...... At the beginning of my turn, one of my spies was stationed inside
a transport, which is adjacent to a Celtic city. I activate the spy and attempted to incite
revolt, which cost about 700 Gold, but when I move my spy onto the land square next to
the Celtic city, and when I select 'incite revolt', the cost increased from 700
to 900 Gold in the same term!! My explanation for this is that it may be due to the fact that the spy
is a little tire.Next time when you want to incite an enemy city, station it next to
the city, (if it's safe, (such as: in my case, on a transport, protected by a battleship.).
And incite revolt in the first move your spy makes, not second move...
You can save some money this way!
I hope my explanation to this strange situation is correct....
