Time for vampires to own up to their origin?

Just remeber that crusifixes don't realy exist in the FFH world.
And even thou I can somehow imagine a brave warrior wielding a random icon and screaming: "[insert god here] curse you! Return from whence you came foul monster!" I can also clearly see the said vampire stufing the said religius icon down the said brave warrior throught.

Vampires here are nothing more than elf like non aging humans with a afinity for blood and sensitive skin.

Vampire hunters would wear wreaths of garlic around their necks because it covered the smell when they opened coffins. Silver is a natural antiseptic and so people assumed it had a natural resistance to disease and evil. Weakness to crucifixes are a myth, of course, but one perpetuated by vampires themselves to mislead the hunters.

Most of the symptoms of vampirism are attributable to rabies, which is probably where vampirism came from:

Garlic vs vampires is lesson number 1 in teaching new players to ignore everything they know from reading monster manual. It always funny to watch the party bulk up on supplies to fight a vampire (all the while the NPCs are treating them like they are crazy, "your going to storm the manor of lord Cerdwic the Razorkin, butcher of hallowdale, commander of the pools of sanguin, and you want to stock up on garlic? Okay... you sure you dont want some parsley too, we have it on sale?") only to find that it doesn't work at all.

I tend to belive the only threat to a vampire from garlic is that they have better smelling abilities than humans. So for a deterimed vampire-none at all.

Nope. It has to do with what garlic represents to various cultures across the world. Funnily enough there are groups that also associate garlic with being evil rather than a force for good. In this case, garlic due to it's natural anti-biotic properties (used by ancient peoples) it was associated with good in most of Europe.

Of course gralic repels vampires. Eat enough garlic and see if anybody wants to be near you.
