Yes, that's why I think that an even larger map will enable a ridiculous number of scientists. I'm thinking that before rails, a town with 3 irrigated grass will support two scientists if you use Sumaria and you can get plenty of those peacefully on a large map with the Pyramids. I've been thinking about this for a while now but I'm committed to finishing my current game plus taking part in SGOTM (when work doesn't get in the way of course). Maybe my thinking is rubbish but I'm curious to find out!

Sorry about the Emperor space thing but you did pose the question IIRC Now that one can surely be beaten. KB is doing some nice space times so I expect him to challenge that one soon.

Competition requires lots of tactics I don't approve of, like ROP rape. Playing without ruthless war won't get me any awards for stuff. I don't like competing when I know I'm not doing everything I can to win.

I've only ever done RoP rape once to finish off a GOTM quickly and I agree that it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth! I still like to play the games though because I like to see how some of the top players deal with the same situations that I have encountered. Unfortunately I don't think that I will be able to find time to complete GOTM43 due to pressures at work. This is a shame because (i) I was pleased with my 1000BC position and (ii) I have made a submission for every XOTM since GOTM 16(Rome) when I first joined the site.

Was that a large map? If so it is a new record by a couple of centuries as the current best is 1405 (correct?) so why are you not submitting it?

The good thing about Tiny Emp Diplo, however, is that because I failed the Diplo, I'm probably getting #1 (and the only) spot in SS there.

I doubt many of us will ever see a tiny Diplo Emperor or above in a near future where Civ 4 is released. I tried that goal today and had bad luck with Technology race with other 2 or 3 AIs. If that's the case, the chances of getting SGL to rush United Nations might be pretty slim to none and the voting might be inconclusive.

What about Huge Diplo Emperor or above? I won't probably be doing that for HOF submission, due to laziness or just plain tiresome even though I have fast PC.

You doubt in me? And there is Tomoyo, Tone, perhaps even Moonsinger will try a Sid one. I guarrantee you there will be Tiny Diplo victories above Emperor before Civ4.

I'm an honest player, and I'd keeping secrets would be cheating for me. Also, I like some competition, otherwise it's boring on Emp.

I achieved victory in Tiny Diplo Emperor today as Greece civ. I just hope the administrator won't reject the victory game I submitted.

Now I can trust anyone who have what it takes to accomplish this victory if only they're lucky and break my Tiny Diplo Emperor record: 1550 AD.
