I've notested that there aren't any Tiny Diplo victories above Monarch. So I tried a couple of time on Deity and failed, then I decided to try Emperor first.

I picked Persia as the most suitable civ, Immortals to quickly OCC one opponent, and peaceful traits for later game.

I won in 1480 AD.

Aha, it was rejected. I'll have to do it all again...

Why was it unacceptable? Just curious!

No, no, I apparently had "Preserve Random Seed" on.

I don't know how, I play all my games with HoF rules/settings, I probably accidentaly uncecked it.

Now I have a challenge to beat my time. :)

You had only one opponent? Minimum 2 opponents for tiny maps.
A diplo win with 1 opponent?

Since we rolled out the 4000bc.sav page I mentioned this situation doesn't happen as much as it used to, but it does happen from time to time. I've even had a huge map of my own declined due to Random Seed. I hope that's some consolation.

Your game registered starting with two opponents if I remember right. Did one of the AI get killed before your last turn?

I guess you mean '... apparently didn't have "Preserve Random Seed" on.'? Just to make it clear, "Preserve Random Seed" must be turned on.

Looks like their are two civs with cities. The town SW of Sardis looks orange to me whereas the rest is red. Correct, Pentium?

You are right Tone. It's named Postojna after my city of birth, stands on a 1-tile island and was gifted to Ottomans to ensure their survival.

Everything considering opponents was right, I had PRS off. Sory fo the typo before.

@superslug: I'm glad you don't cheat:D

I think Dianthus and A Space Oddity are more glad than anyone that I don't cheat. They probably wouldn't enjoy busting me, but part of their jobs is vetting my games. Even I don't get a free ride.

No, I actually submitted it. I was originally trying to beat Tone, but that's really, really hard... Sorry, Pentium...

I would try a larger map then ;)

Yeah, I think Standard's the best, but I was trying to do it so that even if I didn't beat you, I would get a spot. I would still have been trying for the best overall Emperor Diplo win.

Most of my entries have been standard maps as that is what I have played the most and so what I'm most used to. I am tempted to try a large map as I think that the extra space will more than compensate (in the long run) for the higher research costs. Just get the Pyramids and keep expanding to get those scientist farms up and running is what I think. Do you see any value in that or am I misguided due to lack of large map experience? I just haven't got time at the moment as I've finally got around to trying a milk run to complete the QC.

In my Emperor Space Race (That you beat) I used lots of specialist farms. It was a standard map, but it was very effective. Each ICSed 5 pop town would work two irrigated grassland (RRed) and have three specialists. That's 9 beakers. 9 beakers for 3 tiles. That's very good. You just need lots of settlers.

And it takes lots of MM, since you should "pull down the slider" one turn from completion, which is basically make civil engineers out of some scientists.
