Tips on Conquest and Domination on larger mapes

Yes, please provide more information. We'd like to help, but help us help you by letting us know what it is you're asking for.

I'm going for a domination win on a large map right now. Let's just say it's very tedious. I have both Longevity and The Internet, and I'm only gaining about 1% on pop and land each turn. After a long war with the Aztecs where I convinced Monty to give me all of his cities, maps, and gold in exchange for his life (picked up about 8 cities) and am hip-deep in it with Shaka.

The only conquest that I did was a small DyP map with four Civs. It still went to the end of the tech tree.

The thing I hate about going for Conquest/Domination on larger maps is the corruption. I wouldn't really mind just creating territory holder cities and then focusing on a productive core, but every extra city you build over the "optimal" amount (or whatever) worsens corruption everywhere! ARGH! Taking over the world is just too much of a logistical pain the the ass for me. I keep trying but I always end up getting bored and just tossing a rocket off into space to end the damn game. :p

Only if your government is Communism. I suggest staying in Republic or Monarchy for your world-domination plans...possibly even Fascism.

Take over one civ with knights and at least two with cavalry. Tanks are worth another one or two. It's really not that much different from domination/conquest on a smaller map...it just takes longer.

Do the standard intelligent things:
- Expand fast and furious early.
- Get a good FP up and running.
- Sign alliances to help defeat your foes.
- Trade, trade, trade.
- Lots of workers.

Plan on bigger stacks and more units and more gold coming at you and needing to go out, but just play well and you'll be fine.
