I want to play a Spain game. Lets say I find 2 natural wonders first and I get 1k. Lets say its around 20 turns in. What should I spend this money on if I dont have any neighboring civs?

I would either buy 2 settlers or 1 settler and 1 worker. Either way, you'll be way ahead of the game. Should be an easy win after that.

It is. That's the thing with Spain. If you find at least one NW, then you have Deity-level AI bonuses. If you find nothing, then you're basically a blank civilization.

You might want to think about splitting the gold 1 settler and 1 worker and go Liberty track to get your second settler that way. Focus on culture and science in your cities?

Welp just started with Spain and I got lucky. 6 turns in I found a NW first. got 500 bought a settler and settled by the wonder. Now i'm making over 14 gold per turn. Really broken if you get lucky with Spain.

You have a blank UA you mean, their UU are pretty powerful.

You can go for a religion heavy game with Spain if you want to: just get the One With Nature Pantheon and nab one or two Natural Wonders.

Spain doubles its +4 :c5faith: bonus on Natural Wonders to a +8 :c5faith: bonus, on top of whatever natural faith bonus they may have.

I'm not a fan of their UU's. The Conquistador comes too late to settle a useful city(unless you're playing Terra or something). The Tercio is okay, but it costs more to produce(and is stronger along with a promotion). But I'm not a fan of the melee line. I prefer the Calvary line and maybe 1-2 meatshields if I need them.

The Conquistador is the most powerful horse unit in the game. Nothing comes close to it. You dont build it to settle cities, thats just a minor bonus.

They have the same attack as a regular Knight. According to Civilopedia anyways. I haven't played Spain in a while.

They dont have a penalty for attacking cities...... and +2 sight radius. And that stupid Settler thingy as well, but as you said, that one is rather pointless...

The sight radius is nice, but hardly game-breaking. Considering that knight/calvary units are already excellent spotters and can move in and out of a city's range in one turn, the +1 sight is slightly less useful. If that were on the Tercio, it would be a lot better since they don't have that mobility. As for attacking cities, I almost never attack cities with my calvary/melee units unless I can't take the city that turn without doing so. For the amount of damage that horses/melee units take, I don't find it worthwhile to sacrifice their health to do a little bit of damage. That being said, there are many worse UU's(I'm looking at you, Zero), but I wouldn't classify their UU's as 'great' by any stretch of the imagination.

yay I won a cultural victory due to me snowballing from the first NW I just spamed wonders since I was technologicly advanced early. Austria was quite a problem though T.T. I'ma play a Inca game next

I posted another thread on tips with inca ;o gonna need some feedback before i start a game with them

A UU doesnt have to be game breaking to be considered good. The conquistador is capable of acting both as a screen and as a mobile spotter for siege units. Spain and the US are the only CiVs that I use siege weapons before the introduction of artillery precise for this reason. And the tertio is the only unit capable of going toe to toe with the Siamese elephants. Pretty brutal.
