Tired of the complaining? Who is FOR Civ IV?

it's fun, fun. fun till my daddy takes my T-Bird away. and then I'll just stay home and play some more. Great game - Considered the problems I faced as challenges and moved on.

It's great and it will be really friggin fantastic once one or two patches improve/fix some issues with the civilopedia, some gameplay issues and the interface (functionwise, not graphically).

Also, I guess, with a add-on some more civs/units will be nice. But of course once the modders get started that's not really necessary anymore. ;)

I really do miss the tidyness/functionality of Civ3's advisor screens though (especially domestic and military).

Over all though a really great Civ game with lots of improvements over the previous ones (love health & happyness changes!).

I Love the Game. Haven't enjoyed any computer game this much since SMAC.

Its been a long time since I chose Civ over sleep. Civ 4 is bringing back to those days. I'm charmed and fascinated by this new game.

Four words for you....

Just one more turn!!

Love this version, most fun I have had in years:)

Goes to show how old you are? Threads like this one are so childish. A "rave" is just as childish as a "rant". ;)

Nothing like a poke in the eye with a sharp stick though. My comment was about my Atari Computer BTW.

At first I was unsure, and the very fact that I was unsure bummed me out since I was expecting to be in love with the game from the get go. I couldn't get my head around religion, wasn't sure what all the icons meant, didn't know which techs did what and so didn't know what I should research when, and so on. In other words, I just felt lost. But I played a few games, got the hang of things, and now I can confidently say that this is the best Civ yet for me (Alpha Centauri doesn't count ;p).

I have been playing Civ since the first one came out.

For the first couple of hours I didn't know what to think - and then it totally sucked me in. I am playing on an earth-like random map; the way they have done the old world/new world thing is fantastic. I think it is the first time they have done the age of discovery right (in the regular game). It seems like the chronology is perfect - I explored the new world in the 16th and 17th centuries. I love the new world being filled with barbarian cities.

It is easily and by far the best of the Civ series. I see some of the best elements of Civ II, Civ III and Call to Power being blended together in this game.

I won't say I don't find any faults with the game; the Civilopedia is tedious (although I don't use it much), it seems unstable at points, and it runs pretty slowly (I personally wouldn't mind 2D at all)...

But overall, I love Civ IV. Not since Civ II have I had the "one more turn" syndrome, and Civ IV has brought it back. I'm playing my first game on Noble, and it's quite enjoyable. There's a lot to learn, but that's part of the fun for me.

There are all sorts of little details, like the units speaking in the right language when you click on them...it was so nice for me, a Latin student, to hear "Quid consilium est?" :)

Personally, I love the game.

I think it's a little unreasonable the way some are complaining. People comparing it to civ3 is funny to me. The launch of civ3 was the exact same thing(Civ3 sucks, it's hard to mod and lacks 'x' civ, go back to civ2).

In a few patches, it'll be perfect. I'm eager to see what the modders can pull off, and in the meantime will be trapped in this game, Ghandi just can't get away with his war crimes.

Love it so far. The pace is perfect for me. I've long grown out of the hardcore gamer stage and don't want to dedicate 40 hrs to finishing a game. In normal game speed, noble difficulty I am able to finish the game from ancient to modern in a day.

Even after running it with multiple map restarts, one game from start to finish, more multiple restarts, multiple save and loads, tabbed out to post messages, and etc, the game shows no slow down or any signs of memory leaks.

I think the introduction of religion will eventually prove to be a brilliant move. In one game, I was able to beat the AI to found all religions. It basically eliminated all religious negative scores in diplomacy.

You know I had a few performance problems and some trouble with directx, but after resolving those issues, I must say I'm really enjoying the game!

Great game!
Huge improvement in graphics, new combat logic, dynamic tech tree, etc....
:goodjob:

Please tell me it's not more addictive than Civ 2 (I find 3 only slightly addictive). Or between it and WoW I will get NOTHING in my life accomplished. :D

I'm posting because I don't have it yet :(. Stupid amazon.com.

I Love It.

I don't know what everyone else is going on about.

Sure I can understand ATI card owners to be a bit frustrated, but aside from that, this is an excellent game.

And out of all the games I've gotten in the past two months ( Which includes: GTA : San andreas, World of Warcraft and Age of Empires III ) this is the only game which I have not regretted buying at all. And CivIV is the only game which will see more than 15 hours of play time out of all my recent buys.

The people who hate this game so much spend their time scanning the screen with a magnifying glass, seeing if they can find a glitch! I'm all for Civilization IV!!

Even my son loves it. He is 20 years old and most of his game time is taken up by World of Warcraft online. He can not stop playing Civ IV now.......
