Awwww, CT - just a small one? A really teeny-tiny itsy-bitsi little bonfire. Sort of like a decapitated-match-strikes-worn-old-sole-of-shoe kind of bonfire? I'll keep a bucket of water handy, if that'll make you feel better
Seriously, if there's any game I don't mind taking part in a de-glamorization of, it's GTA:VC - it's a nice game and all, but some people go so far they call it a whole new genre and a breakthrough in computer gaming. I say they should grab the nearest dictionary and look up the word 'Hybrid', then try to find an old C64 and play a few games on that.
So, go go go Civ3, and let's get ready for March 30th. Mario and Luigi are nice and cute, and haven't ever done anything nasty to anyone, but we can't afford them any mercy anywayz. After all, this is war, and who knows war better than this community

We need to pull out all the stops to win versus Super Mario Brothers III. Super Mario is an all-time classic and will be extremely tough competition. Civilization III must prevail.

Well, I think Civilization 3 has a chance against Super Mario Brothers 3. When I consider Civ vs. SMB I think of all the incarnations of Civ up to Conquests. This leaves Civ3 looking a lot more formidable. Plus, has there really been a good SMB since maybe Super Mario 64? (which I didn't think was all that). Civilization started off about the same time as SMB and shows no signs of slowing down. Here's to playing Civilization 13 when I'm 75 years old.

i'm slightly disappointed that tetris didn't beat super mario... and even more that super mario 3 was chosen...
but it's great that civ3 won and it proves that a great game (despite a lot of criticism) has an active community and a broad fanbase who'll vote i favor (in fact, i had 7 votes from various computers and browsers

Honestly, I am extremely happy that Civ III beat GTA!!!! I was thinking, "Oh crap, Civ III's gonna lose this, and it's my favorite game on the list!!!" But no!! We won! Yay! And honestly, if we can beat GTA, we can beat Super Mario!! If everyone on Civ Fanatics and all the other Civ III fan sites vote for Civ III, we can win! BTW, how many Super Mario Bros. 3 fan sites have you seen?

It might be blasphlemous to post this here and I might just get banned but
I can't in good conscience vote for civ3 over mario III.... there is just no comparison that mario III is better, more influential, and more timeless.
