However could a mod or somebody please add all these suggestions to qslacks list of x-pack ideas (which dan still has not commented in) - this is the official sugestions for the site I think.
Please dont post your ideas here but in this already far more advanced thread (and try to keep it to your sugestions and comments on other peoples)
What would be good is if improvements/small wonders/large wonders were interchangable. so we can convert large wonders into small ones and possibly small wonders into normal improvements
Add more editing possibilities like making it possible to add new buildings in the city view and add new resources that have pictures.
I would also like to see paved roads. Units could have 5 movement points along them and could be an alternate to railroads and don't require any resources.
And one of the things that makes me not want to play the game is that you can't trade with other civilizations. You have the give a civ every advancement they don't have, 2 resources, a world map, 60 gold per turn, and 400 gold in advance just to get one resource like silks and the other civ will stop trading with you at the end of the 20 turns. There should be balanced trading. A resource for a resource etc.
Ok, how cool would this be? Here's an idea on a new way of doing railroads . . .
Make a new unit called "Locomotive" or "Trainset" or whatever that can be built once you have the needed resources and technology. This would work like the ocean going transports in that you load units into it, then move it, then unload them. As with sea transports, unload counts as the move for the turn for the units being unloaded. The locomotive (loaded or empty) has unlimited movement on your railroad squares. Units that aren't in a loco have normal road movement on railroad squares. This would create a need for more planning and strategy in the use of your railroad resources (how many locos to build, where to keep them, etc).
Capital cities!
Why aren't they worth anything?
In Civ2 I really loved the possibility of civil war when a capital was captured.
Also maybe entire civs could capitulate (ie be overthrown). this would only work if that idea of internal regions /districts was introduced
