I'm 47 and have been playing since Civ 1 for DOS (on a 386 with 4 MB of RAM). My 2 daughters, now in their early 20's played it then too and still play Civ 3 today. I love it because my job is sometimes incredibly boring and Civ forces me to use my brain and think! I will be playing 'Civ 9' in the old-folks home someday!

I start playing video game around 23, it was final fantassy 1. Now i am 39 and i am still a gamer.
When i mean a gamer, i mean pure gamer, i have no girlfriend, i quite my chemist job to get 3 year sabbatical ( maybe more it depend ) to play. I love TFC too.
when Civ 3 was release i played about 1 year full time ( about 80 hour a week).
All game i have play and like, i finished them, i love to see, The end in a RPG.
I am 39 and feel like i am still a kid, and if i compare with divorced friend who had to pay for wife and kid, i feel very comfortable.

been playing this came since version 1 came out (how long ago now?). Before that, Empire was pretty cool, but no where near as fun as CIV. Most other me-too games also lack the luster and complexity of this game. I'm pleased it finally got the multi-player part in it (PTW). Now if I could only get mine to function as its supposed to, I'd be a happy camper!!!

been playing since 1992 or 1993. Got CIV 1 from a friend who didn't like it and was Civaddict ever since. Now with the multiplayer part it is the best game ever!

I am 14 and i am just adicted to this game, since the first time i saw civ 3, i just knew that i had to have it. Since i got it last year, i dont change it for anything. Got a lot of friends that just love civ 3 and they are my age, so its not true we young people just move from game to game, even though it happens some times

Hey Leningrado, I'm 13, as I've mentoined before, (it's even in my signiture!) and I've been playing since Civ1 for Windows. I loved it. Then came Civ2, etc. But young people are supposed to learn quicker!?

I didn't think you'd play at that age, then again, I played civnet at that age. But Civ3? That needs more understanding.
My brother is 10 and he plays though. Sometimes does better than me! But I'm always telling him new tactics which I learn. He tends to be Militaristic.

When I manage to find a weekend without taking work with me and getting rid of my wife (by sending her over to her mom
) I might play 4-5 hours straight, and remember the good old days... otherwise it's only three or four 1-1.5 hour sessions weekly and even that's out of question sometimes.

That was exactly what I had at home until I explained the basics of Civ 2 to my wife. I went to bed a few hours later, and when I woke up she was still playing !
Now, the only problem is to get rid of the children so that we can play together !
She's not addicted to Civ 3 yet (she finds it too different from Civ 2), but who knows ?
