TOS V4 Beta PBEM2 - Bougainville

The code name for this game, Bougainville refers to one of the Solomon
Islands, where fighting occured during WW2.

Sign up here if you are interested and state your prefered Civ.

So far we have:
Myself
AKsully
and LuthorSaxburg

The Civs are:
The Commonwealth - Cloner4000
USA - Eric_A
Japan - Sully
Nationalist China - Luthor
Dutch - Luthor
Communist China - AI controlled

Play order is:
Japan
USA
CW
NL
China
& AI always moves last
 
I'm playing Japan in the other Beta test so I don't mind playing the US in this one. But if Luthor would prefer the US then I'd like Japan.

I would like to take China, in order to try and redeem myself from my last disaster in TOS V3!

My other alternative choice would be the Netherlands.

I leave the 'big' countries to the expert players.

China will be interesting in V4, it would have been my second choice.

The Dutch on the other hand, are in a very bad spot.

I disagree!!! Giving one allied nation to AI is always crippling the allies. I've tried that with Sully and it's really not good.

I propose one of us playing with it.

Yes, NL moves and then China, so it would make sense for you to
play them. But they are very weak in V4 and thier contribution to
the allied war effort is minimal. I don't think it will make much difference
but if you want to play them that's fine with me.

I agree that it isn't THAT much different, but it does makes a difference in terms of information: you'll get to know what Jap forces are in Dutch territory whilst with AI you could only guess.

There are other things in which it could make a difference, but I'll discuss them in private with the allies! :evil:

While we are waiting for Sully to launch the game, let's get the rules
stated here so there is no uncertainty:

1. Limit of 4 air units per airfield.
2. Max of 3 divisions or equivalent on one tile islands, arty and
flak do not count.
3. Cities can only be traded back to their original owner.
4. Units can be disbanded to boost production, but only for the
same type of units. For example P40 fighters can be disbanded to help build
P51 fighters but cannot be used to help build ships, tanks or city
improvements.
The types are:
air
ships
subs
armor (includes seabees)
infantry (includes paras and marines)

Note there is no rule against city flipping because it is now very expensive.

Have I forgotten anything?

2. Are there "one tile islands with cities"? If so, are they included?
3. I don't agree with this rule but I can live with it. I propose that only "empty" cities (cities without military units) can be traded.

as Truk are unlimited.

3. Agreed, empty cities only.

And Eric if you wouldn't mind...can you send me an email with the files/links I need for this version...I had a mailbox full that resulted in some lost files. Problem is fixed now but the email with the info would be a big help. I have a bigtime fantasy baseball draft tonight and I am completely involved in it!!! Once you send me the files and links then I get the game up and running tomorrow. Thanks!

For all of you guy who have full mailbox, I am not certain but I am pretty sure you can register one from yahoo.com, as they do not ask any sort of ID or credit card, pretty much just name and addresses, they gives you 1 GB of space which I guess is enough for MOST people, plus it's completely free and I have 2 or 3 accounts myself.
