SGOTM 3 or this training game? I might have confused people: I was suggesting that we get a training-game underway, and hopefully finish it in time to kick-on with SGOTM3.

For the training game, we'll run it in plain-old Civ 1.29f ('cause everyone has that). I was going to use the standard resources, so it would require swapping the resource file.

Would people prefer if I modded it to use the GOTM resources.pcx file? Whilst it would not use the actual GOTM resources, it would mean that you don't need to swap the resources file over (if that makes sense).

Whenever I try to run Civilization3.exe, it asks me for the Civilization 3 CD.

I've been thinking about it. ebgames.com has vanilla for $10. I think I am just going to find it some where and buy it. Then unload Civ3 Gold on Ebay.

I don't want to miss the opportunity to play in this TDG.

Iam playing gotm31 atm. So either is fine for me.
Iam presume most players have gotm resources.pcx. Let me suggest following the SGOTM format.

I might depending on how I go in GOTM31. And things arent looking good. Made a HUGE mistake early on. Lost a city in a chain of cities and a whole bunch of Settlers ran through.
Still it early yet.

But i also have 1.29 and 1.22. So i come with the majority.

I thought so, too. Whenever I try to run the EXE for 1.29f it asks for the CD. I haven't been able to find an answer to this problem.

Either way, I'm willing to solve the problem by buying Civ3. I have C3C, so I will still have everything.

Please don't even offer that through the forums. Atari / Firaxis can provide these No-CD patches for players with hardware problems.

I can play any version too. I don't know what this file swapping thing is since I play GOTM in but I'm not totally computer illiterate so it shouldn't be a problem. It's been a while since I played vanilla... what are the main diffs between it and ???

THE AI CHEATS I SWEAR.

Lets focus on Combat/War with a non-Militristic race.
Gotm 31 is Gonna end up with me smashing my computer to bits. In the period of 3 turns I had a CF (Cultural flip) of two cities along with 40+ of my best combat units. Including an ARMY along with all my elite units.

As if Losing a pair of knights attacking a single archer on plain wasnt bad enough.

Damm it. I think iam gonna have to buy yet another mouse
and attend anger management.

And do not annoy you, i've done the same with the evil germans. They made war with the atztecs and retreat 4 carrier with bombers and fighters and 6 battleship into one town. Then i declared war and i don't have to tell you what happend.
