Transition from RTW to MTW2 not as smooth as I expected...

yeah, I build infantry training centers and cavalry ones more often than archer ones

Well, I wiped Scotland off the face of the Earth, and now the entire British Isles call me King (including Ireland). Now I managed to get myself excommunicated, which is a very bad thing. I attacked France after much deliberation, and went for the heart. Paris. It was weird, I declared war on France (mainly as I don't like the French :P ) and then received a message from The Pope, asking me to declare peace. Then, I had to save my game and play it the day later. When I started again, I just attacked, and massacred the poor Parisians, completely forgetting about the Pope's message. And then BAM! Excommunicated.

What should I concentrate on doing now? Making my way through France, and into Spain and Portugal, or try maintain peace and have an enormous military build up to unleash on the world? Or should I concentrate my strategies elsewhere?

I played as the Venitians, and massacred the Byzantine Empire in the first 10 turns before heading west and south killing off those imposers who call themselves Italians, Milan and Sicily, both at the same time, fighting a two front war. Both were crushed easily, with the Milanese navy proving to be a thorn in my butt.

I then moved north against the Holy Roman Empire, they were painstakingly taken apart piece by piece before I butchered them. By this time, England and I have joined in an Alliance, England already controlled France, Holland, Spain and everything else in between. Even the isles.

Both of us were excommunicated, I moved against Rome and took it in one turn, the game ended with me in the victory circle as the most powerfull nation in the world.

And the Mongols never came. Guess they heard the stories of my soldiers massacreing every army they beat and sacking every city I take and decided not to come. :p

Building up your military is not generally a good idea, since you cannot afford it. If you must build up your military, best be prepared to capture more cities.

Your money drain fast when you have a large army, no matter how careful you are. That was the one thing that almost killed me in my game above.

you're getting it in summer right?

well, even if you meet the bare minimum requirements, (mine barely does)
it's still SUPER fun......

I got the message telling me reinforcements were delayed due to hardware limitations.

Told me to upgrade my CPU >.>

I guess it doesn't have multithreading support for a QUAD CORE.

Oh well I would have been slaughtered if my one army fought all 4 at once, as it is I managed to defeat the first two.

Although I'm now going to have loads of fun with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii.

Um, and, yes? That has nothing to do with this thread.

good for you getting TP but......

I personally think that MTW2 is better than RTW even though my computer sucks at graphics for MTW2......
