Translation error : Dutch civ city name

Nope... As often, the English lacked any sign of fantasy when they made a map of the Netherlands for use their atlas.

The English translated our capital the same as it was in our magnificent Dutch. With a wonderful stroke of imagination they translated Amsterdam into Amsterdam. Den Haag on the other hand is not our capital, but rather the seat of Government (which is once again a fine stroke of Dutch imagination - nobody wants to listen to Amsterdammers anyway!).

so instead of 1 doing the work properly for 1.000.000players, you recommend that the 1 or 2% who bothers, 10.000 or 20.000 do it themself and the rest just doesn't care?

what a waste of global human resources, but then again, playing a game is a waste of resources anyway

Yes. Propably 99% of the players don't even care about this translation-thing (According to the number of replies to this topic).

I don't understand. Are you saying that in the Dutch version of the game, The Hague doesn't have it's Dutch name?

the dutch version of a game, is ussually the english version, with the manual translated to dutch.
Now if they only would stop translating the manual, and keep everything in english.

So if it is the English version of the game, then why shouldn't The Hague use the English name for it?

Cause all other names are in dutch, or spelled wrong. Its custom to use the names of the city in the language its supposed to be, not in your native language.

Something tells me that this whole thread can be solved with a quick modification to the city list.

*Yawn* Let me know when you're done. I'll use it. :goodjob:

What about Chichen Itza in Chichen itza? thats fun too.
