Is owing guns a good thing? I don't think so. How many times haven't we heard about kids in US that have been shoot then they go to school?
I know I'm resurrecting an old topic (and it's not even Easter yet), and I apologize, but after reading this I just had to respond to Håkan and tip my space helmet to Sweden.
I visited Stockholm in 1993 on a self-created 6-city 12-day N.European tour (in mid-Jan ... COLD!). Of my visits to Helsinki, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Paris, Brugge, and Amsterdam, Stockholm was my fave city and best experience. The Vasa museum was so incredible!
FOR ANYONE INTERESTED: The Vasa was the Swedish military version of the Titanic - military strategists here might like it ... I just wouldn't recommend building a unit like this! Though it might be fun ... JohnV? They have a website ... lemme find it here ....

Anyway, my point is: from my Swedish experience, the first time I ever played Civ (probably '96), I chose Vikings, and while I'm currently getting around and trying other civs, Vikings are probably still my fave.
Håkan: I like your country and your policies.
Same with Canada. I have good friends there and great respect (and a soft spot in my heart
) for Canada.

What is it with me and cold countries?
