Not Sarcastic
Of course, I've played C3C many times. I just don't feel so confident right now.
The game is started out of pure curiosity. How long can I stay alive while being honest to my self? Well see. So its a small world, sedentary barbarians, and 5 Monarch AI. My civ is random. I get:
Lincoln! Well Abe is quite happy to see that he has deer right next door in the forests. He decides foolishly to name one Rudolf.
Lincoln likes his coastal land and decides to tell his ragged band of drooling warrior peoples to settle on the spot. A granary is ordered up and the worker is sent SE while the scout explores the lands. It pops the hut and we get a warrior. The warrior goes home. Research at max is started on the alphabet.
3750BC The worker finished mining the BG. It starts to road it.
3700BC Another hut is popped! And we get a warrior.
3650BC Worker done roading. Moves to other BG tile. I prudently MM Washington to gain the extra commerce, but forgot to do it the turn before.
3500BC We gain a cultural expansion! Yay!
3450BC An English warrior has ambled over. We contact it, but it has Alphabet. Luckily, we are up Masonry over them.
We appear to have a nice swath of land NE but the English came from the NW
3200BC Granary completes. Start on warrior.
3100BC Warrior completes. Start on settler. We are losing 1 gpt but will get alphabet next turn.
3050BC Alphabet completed. Start on Writing. Since the worker is trapped now and needs to escape without losing a worker turn. Build switched to warrior in 1. Oops! It wouldnt have lost 1. Stupid thing under the city that blocked my view!
3000BC Warrior done. Start settler in 5 and chopping. Settler will be done in 3 according to my calculations. Scout spots some fertile lands. MOOO! St. Augustine thinks we are really dumb people. Puny Americans?! Who does he/she think he/she is? I dont know, thats for sure.
2850BC I was right. Settler is done. Of course, I know math very well.
Time for my first ever dotmap. Wish me luck! Obviously I must secure the east for myself. So Ill go NW. Manifest Destiny!!! Though many may disagree, I send it to the purple dot. Is that right?
2750BC We see the English border.
2710BC We verify that it is the capital. I guess my guess was right!
2590BC Abe trades Masonry to Lizzy for BW and 7 gold because it seems shell get it soon. (She wont give me 10). Besides the Spear is better than the warrior especially while chopping a forest. New York founded. Start on worker. This city will build the Pyramids. I hope.
2470BC Second settler done. Send to dark blue dot for wines (and game). Now you might want to speak up if youre critical of my settling on BGs .
Hmm. My chops seem to be very lucky. 2 BGs!
2270BC We start the Pyramids in New York. The worker moves to mine and not irrigate the cows because we will not expand NYs borders anytime soon. Also, 1 MP is not such a good idea for a big city. Conscript in Washington sent over. My foresight is low, but at least I caught this. Boston founded start on Scout. A little late.
2190BC Scout sees 2 magyar warriors.
2110BC 3rd settler done. Send to tan spot to connect NY and expand its borders a little. Plus, the worker can help out in NY.
1990BC Philadelphia founded. Start on worker by borrowing Nys grass next to river tile.
1870BC Writing done. Start philosophy. Dont debate this. Im not about to throw away the Pyramids just to be a Republic sooner.
1790BC We meet the Iroquois but they run away after I press enter too hastily.
1750BC Meet the Iroquois leader, an ugly man named Hiawatha. Writing for Iron Working and 19g. Writing to Lizzy for The Wheel, Burial, and 3g. Down Warrior Code on Iroquois. Up IW on Lizzy.
3rd era.
1725BC We have horses. The second dotmap is for the east of the empire. All these directions. It boggles my mind. Send settler to dirt dot to limit English expansion. They can have the spot at the volcano if they want.
1700BC Wines connected.
1600BC see a French warrior while nearing German border. But no! Its Incan. I suppose blue is Mayan. Ill never get used to the color change in the expansion.
1575BC Trade Mayans Writing 38g and 1gpt for Myst and Warrior Code because philosophy is done in 1.
1550BC Philo in. Poly in. Start on Monarchy at min not to revolt into, but for AI to waste turns getting into. I know their revolutions are shorter, but still. They also pay major bucks for it. I hope I win the Monarchy race.
1525BC Atlanta founded bringing in a forest for NY.
State of the union in 1500BC:
Hey, I didnt know JPGs were so much better than Gifs! Happy, people?
1450BC send last settler to block English. Dastardly or simply cruel? Hey, they did it to me.
1425BC No! Civil Disorder in NY. I raise lux taxes and do not hire a scientist.
1275BC Chicago founded. Only 1 city needed to block them off.
1250BC English start the Pyramids.
In London, size 1. According to F7, Chichen Itza had already started it and must have some time before I met them.
1225BC Contact Aztecs. We are, of course, ahead.
1200BC Seattle founded finishing the Great Wall of Cities.
1175BC Thats not the only thing that happened. Wines to NY. Lux to 10% from 30%
1100BC San Francisco
1075BC Boston finishes a spear. After some debating, I put it on The Colossus.
1050BC Gee, Im dumb. NY in civil disorder. Lux back to 30% from 10%.
1025BC Of course, Salamanca finishes the Colossus. So I go back to a spear. Happy, people who dont build the Colossus?
1000BC Lizzy comes up with a brilliant deal. Map Making for Philo and 80g. I give her warriors and mystics and 75g. I wonder why London is not on the coast. Shes behind those two on everyone else I think.
850BC Galley started in Washington since replacement spear will be sent from Boston in 1 turn.
Ooh! Our scout spots a landbridge.
775BC Galley sent exploring.
Now for our plan. Abe consults Rudolf and the cunning deer says that he wants to secure all the territory and build the FP somewhere like NY. He also notes that building cities that close to the capital impedes production of the Pyramids. A war with the British is written down. In pencil.
750BC Maya start SoZ. Hmm, they could help vs the English. Now, Im not a conqueror or anything, but in this case, it might appeal to you warmongering folks.
730BC We meet the scary Iroquois. They are UP Math CoL and HR. So are the Maya. The Inca and Aztecs are only up Math and HR. England is up HR down Poly. I smell a deal. Ill just record the end result okay? Lets keep it simple. ~180 gold for tech parity.
690BC /me hits my head again. NY is in civil disorder for the 3rd time!
Hmm. An island and gems. Good thing I built that galley. It waits around Seattle for it to complete its settler.
610BC Ack! The Pyramids is taken by the Aztecs. The Oracle by the Inca. The other three (English, Iroquois, and Inca) cascade to ToA. Switch NY to ToA. Build embassies with Inca and Maya to see their progress. Iroquois will be done in 16. Switch to MoM in 1 wasting 82 shields and a bit more. Oh well. Lux tax will fall now since production is not needed in NY. Did anyone else catch that? Another wonder perhaps. Hanging Gardens, anyone? And the embassy with the Maya doesnt hurt. Itll eventually get more expensive and we will have to ally with them some time.
570BC And look at NY in civil disorder. Aw, isnt it cute, mom? Inca are in Monarchy?! Arghh this game is not going my way! At least noone can afford it yet.
390BC Min sci on Monarchy comes in. 3 civs dont have it!!! Only Aztecs offer something good. Monarchy for Construction and 10g. Republic 21 turns.
370BC Monty comes around demanding CoL. Hmm. Uh, no. Bye. They say, thats right they are scum! and declare war on us.
350BC Our war front appears to be very small. Very small indeed. Fortify the scouting warrior on the hill. Build embassy with Iroquois. Alliance VS Aztecs +31g for Construction. Maya ally with us for 201g. Inca ally with the righteous Americans for 264g. When I go to Lizzy, a sad sight is shown to me. Will a citizen die? Who knows? English ally with us for CoL, 1gpt, and 8g. Im almost broke. Oh well. 1 less person to deal with is 1 less. Our warrior dies! Well, thats 2 gpt Ill save in the future.
Well thats all for today. State of the Union in 250BC is taken.
Please take a look at the pics. I daresay I have too many.
