The ground forces seem to be going in now, and I for one wish them all the best and good hunting. The whole conflict was brought closer to home with the news tonight that the Aussie contigent includes the 16th Air Defence Regiment, based in Woodside near Adelaide. I personally know quite well some of these blokes, even one leutnant who went to school with me. I do hope they get through alright, and that the special forces from various countries feed the parched soil with terrorist blood.
My only special request is that, if they do take down UBL, can they tape it, and release a highlights tape to the world media of him getting his dirty little head blown off?:)

Dear God! I am on the evil number, and did not notice. I think I will have to never post again.;)

Yes, I have seen it over the TV news too. Seems like 1 group is trying to persuade some Pashtun tribal leaders in southern Afghanistan to switch sides. Another is being set on hunting down the locale of Osama.
I hope they'll be successful too. Then we can bring the Taliban down soon, bring this particular war to an end quickly and begin humanitarian aid to the Afghans w/o interference fr the Taliban. Also get Osama and destroy his organisation.

I know! Let's send those troops to catch Bin Laden and bring him out of the cave. The daylight will melt him! :D
Seriously, it's time for that. Ground units are less likely then planes to cause civilian damage, so even the Afghans will be happy now! ;) wait, that's not true. Ground units are also less likely to bring them food :p

US Army Rangers parachuted into a Taliban military airbase today. Aproximately 200 troops. Thats a reinforced company, or so.

Surprised me. Thats pretty bold. They are going to occupy a limited amount of the countryside after all. Probably going to establish bases and continue hunting down al-Quaida from inside Afghanistan.

My hats off. Go guys, go!:goodjob:

Would be great if he was making one of those TV speeches of his, telling Americans that we're gonna die, and then all of a sudden, a bullet goes through his head. I'd be happy to see that footage as soon as possible.

:king: :sniper:

That's why US special forces are trying to convince Afghani tribes to join them. Then instead of having a few thousand soldiers looking for him, you'll have millions of people that know the area trying to find him.

This would be great. ONE GUN, ONE BULLET ONE DEATH DUDE :D

Mikoyan - They will get him AND all his buddies. Trust me.

Like G-Man said, they use 'local talent' to help. Thats going to be a major factor. And if they leave Afghanistan and go somewhere else, they will be followed.

The swamp is drying up.

Great picture, VanOrange!! :goodjob:

:king:

Actually the special forces, raided a Taliban Command and Control center. And the place were the taliban supreme commander that Muhammed Otto lives.
They're showing some great video of the raid on the news.
Also they destroyed a huge Ammo Cache

Be ready for some heavy sh*t coming down in the next few weeks. They have hardly begun.

I'm not kidding around. Now the troops have bases INSIDE Afghanistan. The 10th Mountain troops will undoubtedly be guarding those bases, and the Rangers and Spec Ops will fly out of them.

I wish I was there...:(
