True Multitreaded semi succession game, Immortal or deity.

Godel, I would actially check, if Viky is not anyone wost enemy, then you probably can trade with her for no penalty.

The only problem is I have nothing to trade Vicky. I'm still not sure what victory conditions to go for. I will have to ride the wave a bit; the next 20 turns should set the course. Ghandhi will probably pulverise Alex (not good). It all depends on whether Ghandi builds UN or whether Monte declare s war on Ghandi. But that puts me in an awkward position: do I prepare for war (draft which means less pop) or hold onto my pop? I think preparing gfor war is probably best, but if Monte doesn't declare on Gandhi soon I may not achieve much in the war.

I guess my strategy will be to raze two cities, capture a third and give it back for peace. It is all about slowing Gandhi down, since I can't subdue him. I will have a settler ready to claim some land in Ghandhi's ex-territory on declaration of peace.

Godel, couldn't you also potentially beeline for mass media after assembly line? How high are the + modifiers from Monty, Alex and Mao? If it's around +10, you're pretty much guaranteed their vote in UN - you'll have better odds I think if you're in a mutual military struggle against Gandhi too. Maybe you could tech something that Monty/Mao/Alex don't have and gang-up on Gandhi? Or maybe that would mess the population distribution too much... Just some thoughts.

Ok, Round 10 closed with 3 saves.

Ready to declare now, afraid it is to late now.
Was not able to declare befor because of WW, wrong order to research, should be facism first/assembly line after.

Not sure, can I win it or not, hope for Diplomatic only I think.

Spoiler :

Well, on turn 0 declare on washington and revolted to Police state/Free speach. With out police state I had instant -20WW in capital.

Washington got Arty, but it was not enogth. IN about 15 turns took eveyrhting on mainland. He still has one city some where, have no idea where.

Mounty took all mainland chinise and now finishing his islands.

He asked me to join, but I look and Alex is friendly with Mao. Do not want
get any - with Alex, so I refused.

I figure My only chance is diplomatic, so no point to antogonise Alex at all.

Mounty start building his spaceship.

When war finished, revolted to representation/slavery.
Need ot whipe some thinks and I hope representation give me a bit more research.

Research wise went
electricity(traded Facism with Alex for the rest of it)-radio-Mass Media(4)
All together 21 cities, but less land them Mounty and less population.
I wander, will I have enogth? I need to build UN somehow.

May be I need to start to farm over cottages?
Winning conditions:

To be true, I do not know exec number. If you are right, then I will need to farm everything over if I go this way.

Played my set. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

That about says it all. Nobody else has teched mass media so I *should* get it in the next turn set. I've fixed my DP situation (although now I don't have a DP with Monty. I hope the three of us combined are enough to discourage him?), and I'm just growing my cities now.

I got radio, then traded with Monty to get assembly line. Then teched mass media and gambled away! I just need to hold out for another 15 turns or so I think.

Spoiler :
Well folks, after having too much on his hands for the last 55 turns, Monte finally decided to go to war.

Except, he chose me

I was hoping he would chose Ghandi (his worst enemy) and spent the first few turns gearing up for another war against Ghandi. As soon as Assembly line came in, I revolted to Nationalism and drafted infantry. I sent all my troops to Jaipur ready to pounce.

And then this happened:
AD1790Montesstack.JPG

I had 1 Musket in Toledo. I drafted to get another 2 infantry in the city. But it wasn't enough.

Meanwhile, Ghandi (who has tanks) is all over Alex, and he razed one of Alex's core cities. Alex is dying.
AD1800 India over Greece.JPG

Monte dumped another stack on my core. But that stage some of my cannons and cavalry had arrived and I cleaned them up with the loss of a few units. Here is the damage:
AD1802The Damage.JPG

Alex was briefly friendly with me. I traded him Assembly Line for 1/3 of physics and Communism. He immediately dropped back down to pleased again. (Can someone explain why the AI does this after a trade?)

So in those 11 turns I got:
Assembly Line, Astronomy (part lightbulb), Communism, Physics.

But from here I cannot see how I can win. Diplo is out and Ghandi is too advanced. Alex is dying so I have no allies. I stopped at AD1802. I can play the other 9 turns if you like, I suspect the only way to procede is get open borders with Ghandi, march troops over to Monte's empire, take a city, sue for peace and then...Ghandi will launch before I can do much more.

I will be picking up from somebody else's save.

The game at AD1802

Spoiler :
Or possibly I could tech to Artillary and Fascism, organise peace with Monte (atm I have Assembly Line on him so I can control the land, but he has combustion so controls the seas), and then go all out war on Ghandi. He will probably have modern armor by then.

Power graph for anyone interested:

I look on save and my advice to you will be:

Take all you cats and muskets, conquestadors and move them into alex city and gift them to him.
He will upgrade them and survive Gandy. Cats and muskets are useless to you.

IN addition, did you noticed Viky stack? She has to mach on her hand right now, this stack is eather for you or for Alex.
Viky_stack0000.JPG

Godel, are you going to play the rest of your turns?

I personally would like you to, because it is s=independent line and I do not think you lost just yet.

Hi Mutineer

I apologise for the delay. On Saturday when I saw what happened I got discouraged and couldn't see how I could win so I stopped playing (a bad mental state for making good decisions ;)).

Then Sunday was busy as was Monday night. I should be able to finish the round tonight.

I must admit this has been a steep learning curve since I am not used to the necessity of war with civ's that are so far advanced. And my inexperience at this level is probably showing. Nevertheless, I think after this game I will be able to have a go at Immortal more easily, thanks to what I have learnt. I have certainly learnt about the power of drafting (I had previously mainly built my units).

It has been interesting seeing how your line and mine have diverged. The obvious major difference is that your first war was against Gandhi and mine was against Washington. I decided Washington because Ghandi had just got rifles as I was about to go to war. So Ghandi being a bit more advanced in my game has had a major impact on what has gone on.

I also think that your diplomacy has been much better than mine, which enable you to tech trade more easily.

Spoiler :

I played the rest of the round. Not much to report. Vicky never declared war on anyone, Monte pillaged my fishing nets.

I gifted old units to Alex who upgraded them straight away. That didn't stop Ghandi capturing a few more cities before they declared peace.

Monte is refusing to talk. I suspect that unless I capture one of his cities he will not talk for a while.

I researched Electricity and began Radio. Alex is willing to trade Artillary in theory but he won't accept Electricity for it. Btw, Alex is friendly with me again.

Here is the cultural situation between Spain, Greece and India:
AD1820 culture.JPG
Ever since Ghandi capture Thermopylae, Knossis has been struggling to retain tiles and Jaipur has gone into revolt.

I have to get lucky if I am to win from here. I think the only way I could pull it off is to get peace with Monte, bribe him to declare on Ghandi, join the war, capture/raze a few of Ghandi's cities and then go for diplomatic victory. It all seems like a long shot...

OK, consider round closed, I will close it properly later.

For mounty to talk it is just matter of time, or you can open borders with Gandy, collect bunch of infantry/cannnont and use Gandy RR network to reach Tlatelloco and raise it, or just take it if you do not want - for raise.
It will flip to gandy, but may be it is better then damage relationship with Mounty.

Shyuhe, is there any reason you shot down research?

It is not cultural win, you know, or you using money to buy stuff?
