Here is a true space environment for CivIII. I replaced the terrain types with stars and water with deep space. The cities are now planets. I replaced roads, mines and irrigations.

Desert and Floodplains are now White Dwarf
Plains is now Type K Orange Star
Grassland is now Type G Yellow Star
Tundra is now New Star
Hills is now Type O Blue Star
Mountains is now Type M Red Star
Forest is now Asteroïd Field (brown rocks)
Jungle is now Asteroïd Field (gray rocks)
Coast, Sea and Ocean are now Deep Space
Fish and Whale resources are now nebulas

I wanted better roads, but they are so complicated and there are so much work involved that I just modified the ones we have with CivIII. I leave the rest to you for your own mods (other resources, units, etc.)

I didn't changed the pollution because it seemed fine to me with the space environment.

I included a .bix scenario file if you want to try CivIII in space! You can take the files in the Art subfolder and copy them in your own folder if you want. You can use the art as you like, just mention my name if you distribute it.

My ultimate goal is a Star Trek mod, but that's another story...

Here is the modpack:

Enjoy!

Thank you all.

What's a Moo3 mod about?

This is the best, first post I've ever seen anyone make. Welcome to CFC, Code1.:)

Awesome job! I have a suggestion though. It's kinda hard to distinguish the terrain from the water, so you should increase the density of the stars in the background of the terrain to increase the contrast

That could be fun to work on a Master of Orion mod. I'll see what I can do.

And for the star density, I'll try something and post an update. Plus I'll add a few resources (like a nice comet).

Has anybody ever thought about converting the various space terrian improvements from Call to Power, they would make Irrigating space work.

Except that master of orion 3 isnt actually that good.

And thats coming from a staff member on a reasonably well known moo3 fansite..(moo3.at)

Cool, but reveals map always, even the other civ's borders. :scan:  ;) :rocket2:

You probably just got rid of you Fog of War graphics file thescaryworker.

Great work Code1, looks really nice :goodjob:
