Trymedia Civ4 Runtime Error at Activation

I bought Civ4 Complete when it was $10 through Trymedia recently. I successfully installed it, but I get a runtime error when I try to start. A webpage comes up and says it is attempting to activate, then I get a runtime error and it has to stop. I've attached a screenshot if that helps.

Oh, an unusual distributor.

If you have a firewall installed, then check the settings, if the installer and civ4 are allowed to "phone" home.

Windows Firewall was running, but I disabled that and still get the same problem. I guess I'll have to go through tech support with TryMedia...

Is probably better, because it seems to be a problem with this special retailer.
Please report, what happens, if it gets fixed, or not, and how.

I am facing the same problem. My old Vista machine's motherboard died. I had purchased Civ 4 from Windows marketplace. I have now copied the disk contents to my new windows 7 64 bit machine and ran the digital locker program. It downloaded the installer and the installer worked but when i start the game I get the message about activation on the Trymedia site and then a white window no error message even
