First techs were for the janisssary and for sepahi. I also used the Barbary pirates feature to protect my armies moving by sea, even though naval conquest wasn't important on this map.

I took Moscow, Morocco and Gao. The second army took Washington quickly but Addis Ababa delayed the advance enough to get a ten-turn peace. The first army finished by capturing Copenhagen and a third took Stockholm. By then the ten turns were up and the second army quickly finished Ethiopia.

I enjoyed the change from Ancient starts where the opening decisions profoundly influence everything that follows. I should have built trebuchets or crossbowmen and attacked right from the start to minimize the turns played. The Ottomans were already overwhelmingly dominant by the time I got an army to the Russian border.

Beeline to cannons, then artillery.

First Sweden, had a bit small army there so delayed by 8 turns for no reason. Steamrolled ethiopia and America then on to Morocco and the far east.
After delayed Sweden a slightly delayed Russia as well then steamrolled the rest.
Would have been done in 115-120 turns with the same decisions had I planned the division of the initial wave better. Lost like 3 units there where it should have been 0... one of those instances where I kept thinking I could take Stockholm with that last bit of life lol.

Not big on war in general except for quick snipes but this is interesting. But would rather train my MP skills in war tbh.

- Did you find their UA/UUs to be useful in your domination plan?

Janissaries were useful in taking out 3 AIs, UA was not used. Come to think of that, I did not encounter any AI ships at all.

- Describe the order you took the capitals in and any significant hindrances or delays to that order.

First group and reinforcements took out Sweden and Russia, then went for Morocco. Second group took out America. A fleet of five frigates and two privateers helped by taking Boston. At this point the army got upgraded to arties and rifles, the 'american' group went for Ethiopia, the 'moroccan' one – for Songhai, and the fleet was sent to impress Denmark. Ethiopia fell with no sweat, but to get to Gao and Copenhagen was a bit of a journey. Both fell last and on the same turn.

All hindrances and delays were caused by distance and rough terrain, leading to a lot of traffic jams. I've built a ton of roads to help the flow of reinforcements.

- Did you enjoy a later era Domination game? Did you learn any new strategies or tactics based on the era?

Ummm... perhaps, not too much. It just didn't feel 'right'. Not quite a well-grounded argument, I understand. AI seemed even more helpless. Besides, with such starts on Pangaea, there are huge swathes of unimproved land - unchopped forests, jungles, unbridged rivers, which add to the tediousness of moving your units one by one even more; therefore on lower levels the terrain itself and not the AI becomes your main enemy. But thanks for the new experience anyway :)

I was pleasantly surprised that earlier eras buildings were discounted in hammers and gold, had to make myself stop building buildings and start making armies. Policywise I took all the liberties and honours :) Never reached ideology, though. GSs were immediately burned for science, and GWs - for policies.

standard spamming xbow-strategy. did not need to research anything. got free general and coastal production for policies. built notre dame and circus maximus for happiness when three armies were fighting in the east.

Three-city Liberty (+ 2 in Commerce). Started spamming crossbows (and gold and happiness buildings) from the start. First army (initially 3 x-bows and 2 pikes; reinforced over time with 4-5 more x-bows and a couple of Sipahi) went after Sweden, Russia (she had Notre Dame), Denmark and Songhai, while second army (4 (and later a 5th) x-bows and 2 pikes) went after America, Ethiopia and Morocco. Sipahi helped with mobility towards the end; never built any Janissaries or siege units.

Note: Started getting the render error CTD -- had to disable the NVIDIA card and reload a couple of autosaves (set to save every turn).
