[TSL] Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack

How add "G&K CS TSL", "realistic placement for G&K resources" and "G&K civs TSL for the other maps" ? In the options ?
In the XML files.

Hey Gedemon, been waiting for additional city-states and new resource placement before playing this more. Any ETA on an update?
Finishing an epic test game to tweak the Cultural Diffusion mod and test next version of Foreign Trade Route, then I'll start updating YnAEMP or R.E.D. Modpack.

R.E.D. won't be long to update, but for YnAEMP I plan a massive rewrite of some part of the mod, so it may take some time.

Gedemon: Thanks for your work, it is appreciated!

Not without access to the source code.

Max city state is 41. Use one of the CS mod for YnAEMP, or remove the TSL placement for CS in the game setup screen.

So does this mean that we can allow more city states if we use the SDK to alter the code for the mod? I peeked around inside it and I can't find where this would be (granted, I'm completely new to modding).

More than 41 ? not without the DLL source code that we don't have yet.

Up to 41 ? yes, using the CS extended mod available in first post if you're playing with vanilla civ5, or using the option to allow CS to be placed randomly if you're playing G&K.

If you're using the actual YnAEMP city states mods with G&K, you'll get strange name for CS that are also in one of the new civilization city list.

G&K CS mod for YnAEMP will be available *soon*

Hey earlier in this thread you mentioned making a mod that enhances this map pack and changes core features of the game to better potray historical accurateness. Any news on this?

It's not advanced enough to get it's own thread. First I need to finish the Revolution mod, as it will be required by it for oversea colonies becoming independent. And another component I wanted to use to track rebel/partisan units for that mod is on hold due to the problem with combat events since pre-G&K patch.

It's still planned, just no ETA.

Cool, looking foward to it. Also, It would be nice if you had the resources pre-determined. As it stands the resources simply wind up being too few or too much

My biggest interest in this mod is to re-capture the glory days of TAM, since they refused to do an update of that mod for Civ V. I'm really hoping that we can get some Mediterranean maps in Large size that have realistic resource placements and TSL city-states relatively soon.

Just a short post to thanks Gedemon for his effort.
I love to play on the giant Earth map! :goodjob:

hey, its great playing the giant map on civ 5, but a few issues from me!!!

England, Rome and Russia, seems to get nothing of real value, they have been setup to get some iron, horses and such, but rarely get any luxuries or just basic food resources to begin with, so need to restart a bunch of time, just as russia to get a few deer and a single luxury to get a start, rome and england is a bit better on luxury, as they begin with some, but i have as rome, had my iron stolen, due to being to far away from rome or as other nation, i settled nearby and found it in my territory.

can this be fixed or is it impossible with random resources set?

my main issue, is that the AI seem able to setup cities within 3 tiles of other cities, while i am forced to do it 4 tiles away, could it be set, so that everyone can setup within 3 tiles or that the AI can only do it the regular way?

you should be able to settle just like the AI's. The rules are set in RulesChange xml file.

you need to patch up Civilization, your version seems outdated.

I just wanted to say that I had fantastic games over the summer -- thanks for all of your hard work, Gedemon. I played one game as Babylon on Immortal on the huge map and another as Siam. In both cases there were 9 other pre-modern Civs and I didn't build any new cities (and the AI did). It was quite a challenge, but I ended up winning a Diplomatic victory with Babylon and Cultural with Siam. In between those games, I played as China, expanding to 6 cities and easily winning a science victory. It is such a rich experience playing on the huge earth map.

A few comments on the map. It might be nice if the area around the Inca, Aztec, and Netherlands starting points included more of the types of tiles that they have special bonuses for (hills, lakes, swamp). This would really help the feel of the map.

It is also such a huge difference between being next to a river/fresh water versus not being next to one. I wonder if the starting points of some civs could be moved over one so the AI gets fresh water. Of course, when I play I just move my settler.

I have all the DLC, and I can't seem to select China from the drop down menu. In fact, everything under Sweden is completely cut-off.

so close, yet so far away!

(edit: My game is fully patched, too.)

you can't even scroll down using the mouse wheel ? which screen resolution do you use ?

@Hypnotoad: I'll try to do that.

I love your mod! Is there any way to make a random map at the size you show for this mod? 180x94 I have tried to get some how tos for doing such a thing and it seems this is an area where not much info is available. Thanks

Yes, I've answered in your thread, but I don't had time to test it since (and won't have soon).

Hey, love the YNAEMs, especially the massive world map.

I have one pressing question though, not sure if it's been asked before, this is a big thread.

Are there any, ANY, DLL mods that can allow more than 22 civilizations. I know you can always sacrifice a few civilizations in europe to fill out the rest elsewhere, but there is no way to have all the civilizations in eurasia, or all the civilizations in europe, and then the rest of the map sorta empties, especially the Americas.

This is always a bugger for me, so if anyone has any suggestions, please respond.

Also, keep up the great work!
