At long last, the game is underway. I have taken our city site discussion into account and am sending our Settler toward the gold hill. I am sending the worker to mine the bonus grassland SW of our city site(please let me know if this is acceptable).

Here is our current map:

YES YES YES BY ALL MEANS! In fact, move the worker next turn one NW so we can start on that bonus grassland! 3 Spt, 3 fpt, 6 gpt... a great start.

At Hygro's earlier request, here is our position on the world mini-map. I would like to explore our SE "corner" to see if the land ends at that point. If so, we can concentrate sentries and defenses to our east/northeast.

Of course, this is subject to change as the map unfolds.

Finally, it is comforting to know that we were not the only civ to delay our settlement for a better location. In fact, only two nations of five --- Civ3Brazil and Catagonia(CGN) --- founded cities on the first turn.

Here are the Top, um, 2 cities:

Now I need to relearn who is which color ;).

Brazil built their actual capital? How original. :p

It's possible that "Goldfields" imply that they are on a gold tile themselves.

My I vote that we name our capital something highly misleading, such as "Parched Oasis" ?

How about Alotofdesert? :p

Anyway, they may just have settled next to one.

Yes, Fanatazuma. :D

And yes, the first moves are excactly what should be done, DZ. :)

From the Halls of Fanatazuma to the shores of CDZ. la la la la la la la lala la la la la la la la. :D

You are being weirder than me. That is quite an accomplishment, but I thought it was GCA.

I've changed it to CDZ so it rhymes. :lol

BTW I have a Masters Degree in Weird from the University of La Strange

I don't see this side of you much, Peri. Is your CJ position in the SPDG the cause of this? ;) :D
