Turn Discussion Thread

For some reason they do not register in the top 5 cities. I only see the Capital with Stonehenge, which I believe was Carthage. Then there is our city, and two unknown city's both capitals and finally the Amazon Capital. I am guessing the Unknowns are Maya's capital and the Viking capital.

They already had Hindiusm but i didn't see anything else founded I shall check again.

Edit: No, Confusism is still safe for us to go for.

Moved 1ne, can see Perisan shallows, no culture though, see more clams as well, Land has not gone north yet.

The land is definitely looking like a 5-pointed star with starting islands for each civ. Now the question is what is in the middle and what is outside of the islands / points (if anything)?

Yeah, 1E for Voyager.

If Mavericks founded Hinduism then their capital should be one of the ones in the top 5 due to the culture. This tells us that they probably chopped out the Oracle in a second city. Hmm, interesting.

Maybe they weren't lying about having lots of Marble and stone. Could they have also Whipped for the Oracle?

Meh, the Oracle is fairly cheap. It's possible to get it out this early without Marble. Actually, usually it takes longer to build it if you wait for the Marble, because you need Masonry + The Wheel and invested Worker turns to hook it up. That usually takes longer than going for BW + Priesthood and just chopping it out.

So I wouldn't take it as meaning anything about whether or not they have Marble or Stone.

Well moved Voyager 1e and found our first Barbarian in the form of Lions!

Well, lions are better than archers. :)

AlphaShard, did you notice why our score increased? Did Canopus grow to size 2?

Edit: I had a look myself. Canopus is still on schedule to grow to size 2 next turn. I was worried that game was deviating from our micro plan. :crazyeye: Also, Canopus is working the Silk tile per the adjustment last turn.

Edit2: Bah! You beat me to it. :p

No Canopus didn't go up a Pop yet, that will be next turn. I think it may have to do with Culture+Land.

Well, we need to at least decide what to do with Lord Parkin the turn after this, once he's finished the gold. From playing the test game, I think a chop is best. It's at just the right time to get the second workboat out four turns earlier. I'm going to leave a longer comment about the test game in the micro thread.

Hmm, so any clues about what they did get with the oracle? Maybe metal casting like we feared the oracle team would do for an easy colossus? I guess even with LP's seemingly mystic abilities to figure out things he shouldn't be able to know, it will be tough to pinpoint the tech precisely. :P

Well we just take their last score which was 138, subtract points they would get for the Oracle and we have the point value for the Tech they would have gotten.

Yeah it's probably best to fear the worst in this case. Oh well they make themselves a shiny target, just as we consider those who should be ally's I'm thinking of those who are making themselves a target.

As Irgy mentioned earlier, we need to decide what our Worker (Lord Parkin) is to do next. We have been discussing this in the micro plan thread, so please have a look. LP needs to move on the next turn. We are currently favoring moving him 1N to chop to speed up the WB in Canopus. Is there any disagreement with this plan?

Edit: Since there doesn't seem to be much discussion, I went ahead and ended this turn. We have until the end of the next turn to decide, regardless.

Edit2: There was some weird glitch in that I ended the turn, and the CivStats game log shows I ended the turn, but it didn't register as being ended in the status box at the top of the CivStats page. I had to end our turn twice, but the game appears to be running OK (the next turn started). I posted about it it Game Tracking thread in the main forum.

Logged in to move the turn as it was getting late, only to be pipped at the post by Trystero. Could help but move the workboat anyway. Here's a screenshot:

More Amazon culture in the distance, and some plains. I think we're getting near the end of this point of the star too.
