Turn Discussion Thread

The current cottage is at 2 turns, and yes I did read that before I thought you meant to build cottages on both FP.

I wasn't trying to play quick just leave something in the que is all. Yeah we need to build Barracks in AC and Vega, especially Vega since we wanted that to be a military pump.

No, we don't loss a worker turn, so both worker work the same tile and the cottage is ready this turn.

That would be true if the Cottage build was at 1 turn, it was at 2. Apparently were at the tech point where -9 beakers makes little difference to our teching. When I changed Canopus to work the FPH it didn't move our science rate. We can change the worker over next turn then.

If 1 worker needs 2 turns, 2 worker needs 1 turn.
The computing of working is a little different from aturally thinking. If a worker goes to a tile and have any moving point, his building possibility counts as a whole turn. If you work on tiles with 2 or 3 moving points (like hills, forest), it's best to go with one worker build a road and then with other to make the improvement quick.

we 've 2 worker at Sirius free next turn, they should go eacht to the hills north of Sirius (one with mine, one without) and road this tile, then build a mine together at the river hill, the mine is ready in 5 turns when Sirius grow.

The worker on the silk should already be building a plantation.

I think we want the Horse city asap honestly, as soon as we can get Amazon approval we should make plans for the SEttler.

Feel free to make plans for a settler already (although more military still seems like a higher priority to me). The location of the city is not likely to change, nor would we agree to trading that bit of land, so it's reasonably enough that we settle it. Just be careful about the location as I said. If I get a chance I'll change the signpost in-game.

We already have one banana, we don't really need two. The current settling plan has another Amazon city in the centre of the continent, so it's a well and truely surrendered banana, yes. Without *someone* having a city in the centre there's a number of unworked grasslands. Enough to justify an extra city basically.

Sounds like I really need to post the updated dotmap. If anyone feels like taking a screenshot of Anjennida I can do it in the next couple of hours, otherwise it'll have to wait until this evening (if I get time).

I'm just catching up, but I vote for sending Juno south, as well as agreeing with the arguments for why we want to keep close relations with the Amazons.

I didn't mean wanting the Banana because we didn't have any, I meant for food for the Horse city.

It's nonsens to found a city west of horse, because a city between or horse town and the amazon horse town would be horrible and a basic for allways quarrel and war. So I don't want a city there. Amazon has at least both ivory, so we must settle at "C" and get 1 bananas for us.

If/when juno go south the next unit build in Sol must be shipped to Anjen. We need there at least 2 against barb spawning.

I don't think amazon is going to want Landlocked cities, we'll have to see on that one.

We do have a banana in Rigel but I wanted the C city to have Clams, Horse and Banana.

Guys, I agree entirely that in range of the Banana is a strictly better location for this specific city than where I'm proposing. But we need to think about all of the cities on the continent, not just one in isolation.

If you're not happy with the dotmap, that's fair enough. I'd look at the dotmap and think it was awful at first glance. But I suggest you try and make an alternative yourself that's better (and which Amazon would agree to) before getting too critical. I've even provided the raw version to make it easier (thanks Trystero for the screenshots). This spoke is actually a total nightmare to try and map out sensibly, and it's heavily constrained by existing city locations. I agree there's a lot of cultural conflict, but believe me when I say I've done my best to minimise it. There may be a better alternative to what I've come up with, and I'd humbly welcome it if someone can produce it, but I can't do any better than this one.

In terms of the overall dotmap, the reality is, there's either going to be a city in the centre, or there isn't. If there isn't, then we (Amazon and ourselves combined) are going to have a fair few unworked grasslands. Enough to at least justify a filler city. So, I think it's better for there to be a city there than not. If there's going to be a city there, then everything else needs to move outwards to get it all to fit.

In terms of what Amazon would agree to, I'd say if we settle in range of the banana and invalidate their central city, we're not going to get the city to the northeast. It's not a great city, but it is worthwhile. On the whole, we'd get the banana, at the cost of clams, at least 4 grasslands and an extra city.

Here's the current propsed dotmap, for reference. I've also attached the raw version to make it easier for anyone who wants to come up with something better.
