Anyone know if there is a way to turn the fog of war off entirely? I can remove the whole map, but not turn off FoW. I am asking because I would like to "watch" the AI play itself and I can't see any way of doing this besides placing a unit every couple of squares. Thanks...

Well I answered my own question...there is an option in the debug mode to do just that!
Well sir, would you be kind enough to tell what/where you found this so I can do it also?

:D

If you have the cheat mode enabled (see relevant thread), you can toggle debug mode by going to the console and typing "game.toggledebugmode". This will reveal the entire map and let you play with it revealed. However, it will not show you AI movements other than showing their locations at the end of each turn. The debug mode also will allow you to zoom to any of the AI's cities and see what they are building, as well as what each AI is researching and most of the AI's advisors.

In short:
1. Go to the .ini file and change CheatCode=0 to CheatCode=chipotle
2. Start up a game
3. Type ~
4. Type game.toggledebugmode

in game press shift-alt-D, then check the box, then exit and then Ctrl-d easy as pie! there a bunch of stuff you can do, really nifty

No, this won't work right. You can turn off the FOW with the CTRL-D menu and reveal the terrain beyond what you can see but you won't be able to see any units, cities or resources unless one of your units is within sight. If you want to be able to view the whole map you need to toggle the debug mode with the command I said above.
